If Pelosi’s a “Practicing Catholic” Why Can’t She Follow Church Abortion Teaching?
life news ^ | Steven Ertelt

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi made more eye-rolling comments yesterday when she called defending legal abortions to the point of opposing a late-term abortion ban “sacred ground.”

“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this,” Pelosi said about efforts to stop late-term abortions. “This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.”

The head of a pro-life women’s group has a good question for Pelosi: If she is truly a “practicing Catholic” why can’t she support the Catholic Church’s pro-life teachings against abortions?

“As a mother and practicing Catholic, I have a modest proposal for Mrs. Pelosi: that she consider the Church’s teaching which says each life is sacred and reject the idea that each abortion is,” says Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List.

“As a practicing Catholic, Nancy Pelosi knows full well there’s no moral difference between the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell and abortions in the womb,” Dannenfelser continued. “She also knows that politics has everything to do with it: The bill she is trying to shut down – the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act — would protect these babies and women from the pain of late-term abortion.”

“Pelosi’s refusal to answer shows how scared she and the pro-abortion lobby are of the bill, which is exactly why they are trying to shut it down. They’ve seen the same polling we have: The majority of Americans reject late-term abortion,” Danenfelser added. “The bill is scheduled to hit the House floor next week – but it won’t if Pelosi and the pro-abortion lobby have their way. In fact, NARAL just sent out a national action alert urging their members to call their Representative and demand that the bill is not brought to the floor of the House.”

During the press conference, in response to a reporter’s question, Pelosi was upset to be asked about the gruesome abortions and intanticides done by Kermit Gosnell and indicated she opposes a bill a committee approved yesterday to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Pelosi falsely called the bill a ban on all abortions.

“They would make it a federal law that there would be no abortion in our country,” Pelosi said.

Below is the video of Pelosi’s remarks:

She said she was “practicing”, she never claimed to be good at it.

I pray her heart is changed.

Because I suppose she is like most Catholics, in need of a supernatural heart transplant. She needs to be “born-again”, “born from above,” to truly become and “new creature in Christ.”

Every soul born of woman has been born from above. That process begins at conception. Now I cannot judge the condition of Nancy's soul. What I can discern is her motivations/actions are not from the Heavenly Father. And apparently the vicar of Christ is powerless to keep her from tainting his flock.

Pelosi certainly needs to be born from above, to repent and convert. That said, I suppose she is like most Protestants, thinking that she and she alone is the infallible interpreter of Scripture and inerrant arbiter of Truth.

And some people would not know or accept the Truth if it was served up at mass.

When Jesus said to the scholarly Nicodemus, “you must be born-again, it’s very clear he was not speaking of physical birth, but spiritual birth. Man is conceived “in iniquity” according to the word of God, born in sin; spiritually “dead in trespasses and sin,” hence he is born into this world spiritually dead. A new birth, a spiritual birth is essential to understanding the things of God, which the word of God says, “the natural man does not understand,” because they are “spiritually discerned.” Only those who have placed a genuine faith in the Christ of Scripture have been “born again.”

She is in a position to influence others. That makes her a serious adverasery to the truth. what she is doing is leading the lesser individuals into sin. That makes her one of those that Christ spoke of when he said that it would be better if a millstone were tied around her neck and she be tossed into the sea. It’s that simple. If she continues, she’s gone!

AB if she ever actually went to Mass except when there is a camera pointed at her she may meet the Savior.

A better question would be, does she actually follow any of the Roman Catholic Churches teaching? Any of them? At all?

The lack of public discipline when it comes to abortion and public Catholics who publicly support and facilitate abortion is a scandal that dwarfs the homosexualist priest scandal, in my opinion.

One of these days, Nancy will have to undergo the Final Reckoning. I would not want to be explaining my errors and failures of my life before God. He will not be pleased nor likely be merciful to someone devoid of that quality.

Yes so true. Each of us will get to have our very own personal face to face in the future. But for the here and now, God does keep a record of our individual actions and/or inaction. I am seeing a whole lot of inaction in regard to Nancy's leadership. As speaker of the house she was suppose to be representing me, not just the lying liberal left.

Because her Bishop does not love her enough to enforce Canon 915.

As I’ve said before, I would not attend a Mass if I knew that Pelosi or Sebelius would be present at that Mass.

Why would either of them attend a Mass and soil the ceremony, since they are so out of line with catholic teaching?

Why, indeed.
