Cable companies don't need camera nor microphone to know what you watch. They already know what you're watching and what you watched by your cable box IP and MAC address.

No its not BS
Yes it is.
But you go take your argument to someone who wants to believe it.

It’s an unsettling trend, but nothing that can’t be handled with a bit of masking tape.
The time to worry is when they forbid the tape.

A few years ago I would have dismissed this idea as ridiculous, but now I am sure the advertisers and data miners would love to watch us watch.

A little piece of PVC electrical tape would solve the problem.

xbox one is a glorified cable box. It is MS wet dream of a subscription based profit center operating system.
If you don’t pay for internet, pay for a phone line, pay for MS, pay for movied no circus for you.
Soney is selling their new system based on a you own it model.
Baumer is reason number one to NOT invest in MS stock.

but now I am sure the advertisers and data miners would love to watch us watch.Yeah...that's what the cameras are for. To watch people watching TV. Certainly no one on the other end would have any interest in watching couples engage in coitus. Or singles engage in 'self-help' sessions while watching the Pay-Per-View smut that Comcast peddles.

Just cut the cable, block the satellite. Do without the outside tv. Stop subsidizing something that is helping to destroy this country.
I’ve not had outside tv for over 6 years. Amazingly enough, I can get alot more done, and FR can be even more amusing than tv ever thought about being.
