Skip to comments.Bachmann: Boehner will use ‘loophole’ to pass immigration in the House

I dont think we have a definitive on that yet, Bachmann said. I think theres still a loophole that the speaker might allow himself that he wont hold himself to the Hastert rule. In the shorthand, this is what I think is going to happen the very bad bill is going to be in the Senate. Were going to have a Trojan Horse bill that will look very good. It will look like border security in the House. Conservatives will vote for it in the House. Both bills will go to conference committee. The guts will get pulled out of the good bill. Amnesty will get put in. The Senate will pass it. It will go to the House. Nancy Pelosi will deliver all of the Democrat votes and all John Boehner has to do is deliver the committee chairs that hold the gavel.

It should not come to the floor for a vote, we have far more important issues this year.
If this passes, I’m never voting Republican again.
Really, what is the diff between the two parties now?
Professional politicians use a different standard to determine what is important or not.
And now you know why Bachmann left the House.
The guy who’s supposed to be our Fearless Leader is actually a traitor.
Of course if that what Bohner decides to do then little or nothing can stop him.
If this passes it won’t matter. There will never be a Republican majority or Republican President again.
Looks like we need to get on the phone and emails to our congressman
Boehner cannot be trusted because he is being guided by the Bush handlers to get this amnesty bill passed. Listen at Jeb Bush the other day of how he was defending his own ideas that were being included in this bill.
When we had the bail-outs happening and hundreds of thousands of the citizenry were contacting this Speaker’s office/capitol not to allow the bail outs to occur. He just told us flat out there would be no government bail outs and he did it.
I will never forget the day I had a chance to speak to his office in D.C. His top aide told us on the phone that the deal with the bail outs were already done and this was before the announcement had been made in the news while many were still writing and unknown they had no chance in stopping this. He is playing us. Call your representatives and ask them to not allow him to push this through. Take a few minutes to call or email.
We truly have no party there that supports conservatives. Much less believes in conservative principles.
We have a number of conservative congresspeople, just no party that actually is happy they are there.
I hope Gowdy doesn’t get suckered into this.
In general I agree with you.
There will never be another republican governor, state legislature, mayor, or school board either!
That’s why I have not been on Snowden’s case at this point (unless he leaks military secrets).. what we have here is worse than anything ..they are helping Obama to transform the country. I can’t forgive them for that. I am not a radical. I am just a taxpayer who lives by the law.
I would put nothing past Tammy Faye.
Do you leave your house unsecured???
Then why in the hell would you leave our whole Country unsecured??....its THEIR job to secure the country..its our job to secure our houses...
With all due respect, using a loophole isn’t his style.
He’ll just do it to our faces.
I can’t believe Boehner isn’t mentally unstable. Sorry, but that’s my take on him.
I’m really sorry to see Bachmann stepping down.
I think she’s got this pegged perfectly.
The GOP has to refrain from passing any immigration bill this term at all. Maybe they have to try a coup against Hastert before he uses his powers to get it through.
This is really dire and any true conservative should be speaking as loudly as possible against it day and night.
Hope she stays a thorn in his spineless, traitorous side and even expands on it.
They are trying to get rid of the "icky" issues they think are hurting them with voters, so they can rhetorically "champion" the virtues of "small government" and the economic sensibilities of the "middle class" and "small business" ...
Then they wonder why they don't feel the "love" / respect or the support from the "masses" they, supposedly, represent.
If Boehner is a traitor (and he certainly is to conservatives), then all the more reason why Bachmann should have stayed. She had the highest profile on any re-elected GOP house member and she let the GOP leadership get away with bullying conservative House members after the last election. She had a responsibility to rally the Tea Party caucus into an effective and powerful counterbalance to the GOP-e, if they spoke as a unified body, but at the end of the day accomplished little. All credit to her for her personal integrity as an individual House member, but she had the opportunity to do much more.
“Really, what is the diff between the two parties now?”
Not a thin dime’s worth. They’re just flip sides of teh same coin.
I don't know what Boehner has on her if anything. But I suppose if you realize that you will never be allowed to accomplish anything, that you're being used as a symbol only for marketing purposes, then you may just say to hell with it all and walk away.
Both Palin and Bachmann have come up against the so-called Establishment people and clearly they are regarded as a threat, not an asset. So they got out, and are running outsider attacks on the Establishment types in both parties.
Will that ever result in Conservative victories at this late date in the Death of America?
Can't say. Worth trying though.
After a lifelong record of never voting for anyone but republicans... I will vote third party for the rest of my life... if boner allows this to pass the House.
“Really, what is the diff between the two parties now?”
Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz and a few others... and that is more than any other party today.
They could care less about anything as long as they both make plenty of money.
Hell with You and I
