The Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday that the immigration bill currently being debated in the Senate would reduce the federal budget deficit by $875 billion over the first 20 years it becomes law.
The CBO said in its official scoring of the bill that it would reduce the deficit by $175 billion in its first 10 years of existence. Over the next decade, it would provide an additional $700 billion in savings.

AP The Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday that the immigration bill currently being debated in the Senate would reduce the federal budget deficit by $875 billion over the first 20 years it becomes law.
The CBO said in its official scoring of the bill that it would reduce the deficit by $175 billion in its first 10 years of existence. Over the next decade, it would provide an additional $700 billion of deficit reduction.
That amounts to 0.2% of GDP.
If the bill becomes law, the CBO estimated that about 10.4 million people would come to the United States as new immigrants. And it would legalize about 8 million people who currently live in the country as unauthorized immigrants.
The CBO's scoring of the bill pleased immigration reform advocates, the Senate "Gang of Eight" sponsors of the bill, and President Barack Obama.

Bullcrap. The CBO was given very tight restraints on how to score it and naturally they came up with a Rat friendly number. Remember when they said that Obamacare would cost less than $1 trillion over 10 years and it rapidly ballooned to nearly triple that?

They do not factor in these two issues:
1. The number of newly legalized immigrants that will be eligible for and that sign up for welfare benefits (likely to be 7-10 million).
2. The policies that will result from a majority Democratic House, Senate, Presidency, and from the majority of states having Democratic majorities, as a result of 6-8 million new voters, 90% of those voting Democrat straight ticket.

A 20-year economic forecast? Seriously, a fortune teller at some carnival has a better chance of guessing something twenty years out. This is just being thrown out as political cover or a peg on which a Congressman can hang his hat in rationalizing to voters why he or she passed this illegal immigrant amnesty program.
Exactly! I suppose these people see a border fence as the reason why we are in debt as well. So, let's just open the borders to China, Pakistan and every other nation. Let's just make a law that says no matter where you live, no matter where you were born you are by default an American citizen and have the right to move here anytime. I suppose we could erase our debt in a few months according to the CBO and Marco Rubio.
