Conservatives are divided on the importance of immigration reform, with experienced Beltway pros arguing that passing a law now will either save or doom the Republican Party. The debate is coming to a head. Deciding how to proceed presents a political pickle for GOP leaders.

Well, if Brett was a God fearing man, he’d know that morality, ethics and right (God’s right) aren’t conundrums. They aren’t ‘pickles’.....you either have them, or you don’t.

Self inflicted pickling. The GOP can go suck on a big green one.

Allowing an act of “lawlessness”-coming in illegally as the first act on way to citizenship is like saying...robbing a bank is a great way to begin your banking career. That will land you in Leavenworth...and illegal immigration ought to do th same

The GOP helps push this amnesty insanity through, and I swear I’ll never vote for another Republican again.

Look, the GOP needs to demand the border be secured with a fence. The vast majority of the people are for that. Don’t compromise, don’t talk about other concerns, just demand the fence, and worry about the rest when it is in place. See how simple that is? One message, and stick to it. If you can’t do that you don’t deserve to be successful.

Totally agree. Enforce current law, take back the national parks and national refuges from the cartels, put a large military on the border (SCREW Mexico if they don't like it!!!!), prosecute employers of all sizes -- from the largest corporation down to the smallest landscaping business -- and begin the peaceful repatriation of those here illegally.

If illegal immigration was good for the GOP, California wouldn’t be run by Democrats.

Totally agree. Enforce current law,

Do that and you wouldn't need a fence, except maybe one like Joe builds.

Very few Republicans are for this bill - and almost every Democrat backs it... But that's not how the MSM is playing it...

Wonder why... /s

The clueless GOP ARMS the BOMB then wonders WHY everyone questions their sanity and motivation.

As Ann Coulter has already aptly named them... "The stupid party."

"Conservatives are divided on the importance of immigration reform"

No, they're not. Every conservative I know of says enforce, enforce, enforce.

Now, GOP-E charlatans, on the other hand, are all in a pickle. Too bad for them.
