Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division.
"Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it," said Obama. "If towns remain divided--if Catholics have their schools and buildings, and Protestants have theirs--if we can’t see ourselves in one another, if fear or resentment are allowed to harden, that encourages division. It discourages cooperation.
"Ultimately, peace is just not about politics," he said. "It’s about attitudes; about a sense of empathy; about breaking down the divisions that we create for ourselves in our own minds and our own hearts that don’t exist in any objective reality, but that we carry with us generation after generation.

I guess he lost sight of the fact that his daughters attend one of the most exclusive schools in DC—A school that most of us could not afford to send our children to, assuming they’d even be considered for admission.
I noticed no mention of Muslim schools.
Oh, forgot, those aren’t really schools now, are they?

He might as well have said, “If Catholics have their CHURCHES and Protestants have their CHURCHES, that encourages division.”

Catholic Schools have been one of the most positive forces improving peoples lives all over the world and for many in poverty stricken areas they are the only means available in many countries for poor people to get an education.
Catholic teachers teach as a vocation and not a career so they teach in many places where you simply can’t pay traditional teachers enough to teach.
Catholic School graduates disproportionately graduate with high skills and the ability to think rationally and critically.
Ironically, many also graduate with a dislike and rebellion towards Catholicism but the innate to think rationally and critically combined with a well ordered value system usually brings the students back to the Church as they mature.
Unfortunately, rational and critical thanking skills are at odds with the educational goals of current political system we are establishing.

Obama , as a liberal, fails to see “competition”, and instead, calls it “division” when he isn’t allowed total control of both as a single unit.
now do you all see democrats are for control, for religious persecution , for denying people the right to do what they want to and how to worship. this violates civil ,human and individual rights. who are democrats to tell us what religion we can be etc?
