Sarah Palin is often criticized for misstatements or controversial comments. Of course, were she a female Democrat with a flamboyant style, she would be labeled "brave" and "courageous" by the press.
And Palin has once again made a bold statement, one I am sure will enrage those who love to stay upset with her. Speaking on the topic of whether the United States should arm Syrian rebels, Palin suggests that we "let Allah sort it out." And if recent history is any indication, Palin is absolutely right.
Our track record of losing American lives in combat or to acts of terrorism by taking sides in nations where religious factions are battling has, on the whole, been less than fruitful. Just consider one of the many headlines this week. A once inconceivable effort by the U.S. government to hold "peace talks" with the Taliban appeared to be on the edge of collapse as the leader of Afghanistan, whose freedom we fought for, complained about the U.S. giving the Taliban legitimacy in meeting with its leaders. Once again, blood and battles leave the U.S. in a no-win situation, trying to play the "father figure" to the world.
No matter what effort we have attempted to build as a united coalition of countries against nations where we have deemed there to be weapons of mass destruction or the use of weapons against helpless citizens, those efforts usually have resulted in a hodgepodge of participation with little respect.

That “someone else” will be Putin.
Fine with me. Russia can have it.
If it profits him, Putin will fill the vacuum with Iran.
That’s the problem.
It is amazing to see some of the mindless hatred the left, particularly women on the left, have for Sarah Palin. I read a story recently about Muslims stoning a woman to death for adultery, and ALL of the replies and commentary were about Palin and the Christian religious right! They were saying that if Palin and/or Christians had their way, American women would be stoned in the streets! Now how can anyone read a factual expose about Islamic violence and translate that into hate for Sarah Palin?
That someone else should be the PEOPLE OF SYRIA, and if they allow and get behind teorrists, I guess the world will have to live with this.
People are people.
The “people” of Syria are worried about their children’s education, paying the rent, and suchlike—like anyone else.
I’ve actually been to Syria, and the people I met (several years ago, before the current troubles) pretty much just wanted to get on with their lives.
There is no end to this war that results in a pro-western government, so it’s not in our interest to do anything. But if I had to choose for the world to have:
a) Another Soviet (oops, Russian) puppet dictatorship
b) Another Islamic fundamentalist jihadi theocracy
I would choose a
she isn’t just right, she is the ONLY choice for President if America is to survive
Sarah Palin makes good points here.
I find it ironic that Obastard, who says most of the world’s problems are because of our meddling, can’t help meddling in other countries’ affairs.
Iran can have it too. It’s a tar-baby no matter who gloms onto it.
I’m with Palin on this one. When a bunch of Muzzies are killing each other get out of the way.
