It is my pleasure to bring this small pleasure to the TROOPS! ;-)

Too hot to venture outside so my wife and I were just watching 'The Third Man' on TCM.
We've seen it before but the soundtrack is just mesmerizing.
Listen live on-line here at KING-FM/98.1 website.
Beethoven: Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 1/3
Inon Barnatan, piano
Ida Levin, violin
David Requiro, cello
David is new to the Festival. I heard Inon play at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston last year, and hes becoming a regular in Seattle. Ida is an old buddy of mine and has been coming to Seattle to play since she was a teenager 30 years ago. She is one of the few classical musicians I would classify as reasonably conservative, having played for Reagan at the White House with Rudolph Serkin on piano. One of her favorite stories is how Reagan calmed down the very nervous Serkin backstage, and how it turned out that Reagan knew her father, who was a California state judge at the time.
Enescu: Legend for Trumpet and Piano
Honegger: Intrada for Trumpet and Piano
Jens Lindemann, trumpet
Andrew Armstrong, piano
Jens is new to the Festival. Andrew is Festival Director Jimmy Ehnes favorite accompanist, and a man with whom Ive had wonderful discussions about tempo and fingering in certain Beethoven sonatas.
Brahms: Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115
Ricardo Morales, clarinet,
James Ehnes, violin
Stephen Rose, violin
Rebecca Albers, viola
Brinton Snith, cello
Ricardo is principal clarinet with the Philadelphia Orchestra and is new to the Festival, as is Brinton. Rebecca is second chair viola with the Minnesota Orchestra, which is now on the edge of bankruptcy. Stephen is the son of the famous cellist Leonard Rose. Jimmy is one whom I count as a friend, along with his wife Kate. They have a new daughter in the family.
A warning for the Brahms piece: Have your handkerchief or a box of tissues handy.
That is a great film LV
Love that haunting melody!
