Anything sold to the American people as a ‘Guest Worker Program’ should be exactly that; a program for people to work for a while and then leave.
The problem with most guest worker programs is that they are in fact a disguised way to increase permanent legal immigration. The ‘guests’ are allowed to bring their family and then given a path to citizenship. This is simply false advertising, and the legacy of false promises used to pass immigration reform going back to Ted Kennedy in 1965 has to end.
If we really need a guest worker program, then it should be clear that the guests must go home after the term ends, and that while here they cannot bring family with them and establish roots.
I agree completely with you especially with the last part
I was an immigrant resident for 11 years (legal of course) I would have rather starved then accept any welfare etc
