A judge is allowing a San Diego-area school district to teach yoga, rejecting the claims of disgruntled parents who called it an effort to promote Eastern religion.

Yoga is a religious practice, but not the way that it is taught by the Encinitas Union School District at its nine campuses, San Diego Superior Court Judge John S. Meyer said in Monday’s ruling.

Meyer said the school district stripped classes of all cultural references including the Sanskrit language. He noted that the lotus position was renamed the “crisscross applesauce” pose.

“crisscross applesauce” seems to be what lefty educators use instead of telling the kids to sit like Indians.

Also gone from the schools is lining up in "Indian file"

A yoga thread....should be fun!

I signed up for a yoga class because I wanted to learn the lotus position. The instructor asked me how flexible I was. I told her I can't make it on Tuesdays.

Schools to have a history of making American history devoid of religion.

The judge practices yoga!!!

"In an indication of how deep-rooted mainstream yoga has become in the US, it turned out that the presiding judge himself is a yoga practitioner. "Does anybody have a problem with that?" San Diego Superior Court Judge John Meyer was reported asking at the start of the case."

Great. So now we can start having kids make the “sign of the cross” at the beginning of each school day and call it the “criss cross applesauce gesture”?. RIght?

A guy from Nepal I once knew actually warned me not to follow the meditation stuff too deeply or it would lead to some very dark (occult) places.

There is something decidedly fishy about yoga. Something that gives many Christians cause to avoid it — and certainly not let their kids be taught it.

Because Judges know everything about religion and should be looked up to as Gods to rule on anything /s

Here is what I found in five minutes with Bing:

Kundalini is innate for all people: At the base of the spine, subtler than the physical body, lies the Kundalini energy, or spiritual energy, in a latent form. Regardless of what religious, spiritual, or meditation tradition one follows, the awakening of this energy, by whatever name you call it, is a most innate and essential part of spiritual advancement, unfoldment, or realization.

All Yoga is Kundalini Yoga: While some people use a specific terminology "Kundalini Yoga" for certain practices, all of Yoga actually leads to the activation of Kundalini. Thus, in a sense, all of Yoga is Kundalini Yoga, regardless of whether you use that specific name. Awakening kundalini and leading it to union with the Absolute is the goal of the Himalayan sages and the path of Yoga, Vedanta, and Tantra.

I should get the Judges salary for the month, because I did his homework while he was trying to get "awakened."

Translated into Christian, this is training to open the body to spiritual possession and oppression.

Yoga is good for that.

LOL! Yoga is only religious in the US if you go to some flake “spiritual yoga” place. If you just want to get more flexible, it’s a great technique and is particularly good for people who don’t have a lot of strength or agility (to start with...yoga is harder than it looks, and you develop it).

I don’t do yoga because I prefer strength training but my sister does do yoga, and it has helped her flexibility - and her joints - enormously.

Like judges never lie or protect their own self interests.

Paging the Federal Appeals court faggot who decided Prop 8 was “unconstitutional”...

So does this mean that Santa can return to "winter solstice pageants"?

One of the strongest mudras (hand positions) used in yoga is the two hands pressed together as one does in prayer.

“lotus position was renamed the “crisscross applesauce” pose.”

They will teach the missionary position but not the lotus position.... How ironic!

Kundalini yoga, as in all yogas is a practice that flexes the muscles and serves to relax the muscles which have tightened to act as defense mechanisms to block our unresolved issues from surfacing. Just as fasting does, yoga is an excellent spiritual cleansing tool.

Get a volt meter (or oscilloscope) and measure the potential difference between the hands.

Pushing the hands together grounds out all of the signals present.
