Can I ask a stupid question? Isn’t it racist to assume that blacks will riot if they don’t like the verdict in this trial?

Not all black Americans think with their skin, but enough do to make it dangerous for anyone they perceive as fair game.

After watching urban uprisings over the last 50 years, one can only conclude that people are going to conduct themselves a certain way. The hatred focused upon white people now is more extreme than anything I observed in the 1960s, when dozens of American cities burned. I believe riots this time could be explosive.

Everything wrong in the black underclass is blamed upon evil white people. Everything. The miserable truth of destructive behaviors is not accepted--that's why they've made a saint out of the thug-in-training Trayvon.

Worst of all, we have a president who could defuse the situation, but has only said things like "if I had a son..." Black America still (irrationally) worships Obama, and if he told them to behave like sane adults, they would.

There are Korean shop owners just about everywhere in this country. Probably not enough ammo though. This will be good World War Z practice.

It is disgusting that there are not any black civic leaders stepping forward and working to prevent violence. I even expect more from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton than they have shown. A press conference or something where they say that "there is a very high burden to prove guilt of a crime in America, and the defense has put on a strong case, so we just have to trust that the jury, which heard all the evidence, will do it's duty and weigh the evidence and follow the law. We will accept their decision, whatever it is."

I can understand why Obama doesn't do that--he wants racial strife. It helps him rip the country apart. But there ought be be a few decent black men in the Sanford area who don't want their communities to burn.

I hope the police in Florida respond with overwhelming force and kick ass. Rioters are animals, not humans.

Whether or not the police respond, the civilians sure will. They don't call us the "gunshine state" for nothing.

I don't think that's a stupid question, Dilbert San Diego.

I believe the failed main stream "news" media are doing their worst to agitate for riots, partly because bad news sells better than good, primarily because they're whole-heartedly in favor of anything and everything anti-American.

The fear of riots isn't altogether unreasonable, since they've occurred before, nor is it racist to suppose blacks are more likely to riot than other ethnic groups, since they've done considerably more rioting within living memory.

I believe the leftist extremist "news" media are talking up the possibility of riots, planting seeds, doing their worst to nurture them, and generally agitating for them, without, of course, ever openly doing so. I believe riots would serve as yet another distraction from President You Didn't Build That's numerous, increasingly serious failures, as well as further divide and conquer the nation as a whole.

I won't be at all surprised if Zimmerman is acquitted—there was never a case against him in the famous "first place," after all—and only the usual criminals show up to riot: not millions of blacks, but just the criminal element that's been coming to police attention all along.

The picture is funny, but I wouldn’t want it to be used against me if I actually did have to shoot someone in self defense. “So, how drunk were you, Mr. Jones, when you decided to shoot St. Keshawn?”

finish the trial this week ... after all, how much more needs to happen to shoot down that travesty of a prosecution? ... and let Hurricane Chantal take care of the rioters on Saturday.

A photo portrayal of true American spirit that is not obviously American without context.

I also remember how the news was having more of a fit over the Koreans protecting there stores than the looters.

RE: Older black guy who built his own business, only to see punks try to tear it down.

Does insurance generally cover riots or not?

Not if you don’t have them or can get them. Wasp spray - believe me, you don’t want to get hit in the face or get it in your eyes. I’ve used it before and I have a CWP from WA. Either that or get bear spray - again - reaches out 30 feet and it will stop a bear in its tracks.

Probably. But it’s also common sense. There are three things about this whole situation that I am totally convinced of:

1. There will be Black riots regardless of the verdict.
2. There are large numbers of Blacks who are genuinely hoping for an acquittal because it will give them an excuse to riot. As a sub-note there, I am sure they have already pre-selected a number of establishments for looting.
3. There will be no White- or Latino-led riots if the verdict is guilty.

All of those things are totally politically incorrect to say, but that does not stop them from being true. Anyone who believes otherwise had better have an on-the-ball Guardian Angel because he or she will definitely need one.

“Remember the ML King riots in Chicago..there was a m 60 Tank at the corner of Western and Madison with the main gun aimed right down Madison. Daleys orders were to shoot to kill rioters.”

Actually, it was shoot to kill looters. I ought to know, I rode in a car through that area when the place was still smoking and every 10th vehicle belonged to the National Guard.

They don’t have the guts to point out just who will be doing the rioting (looting), playing knock-out king and polar bear hunting, pack attacks, etc. No matter what the verdict might be, they know it wouldn’t have been one group which would riot, and it would be one group only which will. They don’t have the integrity to point that out.

During the Rodney King riots in 1992 in Los Angeles, my hotel in New York was on lockdown , as there were copycat riots in Manhattan.

My daughter in LA could not even walk her dogs — two huge guard dogs, btw — because her neighborhood was so dangerous. It was a very good neighborhood nowhere near South LA, where the worst of the riots took place. According to wikipedia, more than 50 people in LA were killed and 2,000 injured. .

I have relatives in Lake Mary and Heathrow, very close to Sanford FL, hoping everyone will be OK.
