Boehner: 'Vast majority' of House GOP wants to act on immigration; Pelosi points to support from 'Bible folks'
After months of being told to hurry up on immigration, it's time to wait.
House Republicans said they plan to act, but not in haste, after huddling in a closed-door meeting to discuss how to proceed on an immigration bill.
While the chamber intends to proceed on immigration, Speaker John Boehner reiterated on Thursday that the House would not take up the Senate immigration bill that passed last month with bipartisan support. Several House Republicans offered their perspectives on the issue during their meeting, Boehner said, concluding that “a vast majority” of the conference wants to see a bill passed that addresses border enforcement and the approximately 11 million immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.

I hear those ads from “Americans for a Conservative Direction” ALL DAY LONG. Here’s the funny part: The ads talk about nothing but “border security”, the tightest border security ever. No welfare, no food stamps, no Obamacare, and on and on... So what happens when Americans find out - - and most eventually WILL find out - - it was all a bunch of lies?
The backlash will be awesome.
Of course, I certainly hope that shortly before any vote is taken on amnesty, a genuine conservatibe group will flood the market with one brutal ad calling the bill a pack of lies and exposing it for what it is - - a complete fraud.
i predicted too. this has all been kabuki theater for the conservatives. Boner has orchestrated this whole thing out all along. This was the endgame all along. I knew it, you knew it, most here knew it.
It was just good theater to get conservatives on board and placated, but it fell apart with Rubio lies and and Ryan lies and amnesty first, fence never.
There will be an accounting. The GOP-elite must lose their power and lose their seats. Then grassroots must run real conservatives and to hell with what the RNC says. We must be engaged locally to rid our areas of rinos and gop-elites, and then canvass to find good people from ALL walks of life and business - NOT JUST G-D LAWYERS - and get them in for a couple terms, BUT NOT FOREVER. WE KNOW THE PROBLEM DC HAS ON THOSE THERE “FOREVER”.
So I guess the meeting was just to decide how to “trick conservatives”?

Here’s an idea for the GOP-e - why not just enforce the existing immigration laws?? They used to work pretty well when the government enforced them.
Or, is that the problem with them, today?
IMO, the push for “immigration reform” is a push to create a permanent class of low information voters who will always support the left. Why Republicans think they will attract ANY of the illegal invaders is beyond me.

We need to identify the pro-amnesty leaders, organizations, and foot soldiers. They must be defeated.
We need to identify the issues essential to dismantling their power structures and restoring our Constitution. This might entail repeal of Amends. 16 and 17, enforcement of national sovereignty, free markets without monopolies or government subsidy, elimination of the New Deal, Great Society, and the like... the Liberty guaranteed by the Constitution.
The stranglehold of the ruling Democrat-Republican Party must be broken.
