Well, if we take a look, statistically speaking, blacks are not safe from other blacks in the wrong part of town. What really hurt was the loss of the father in the family, but that has been going on for a long time.

If I were a law-abiding black man and I encountered a stranger late at night on a dark street, I’d be relieved to find out that it’s George Zimmerman and not Trayvon Martin. I’ll bet more than a few black folks — maybe even some who are not entirely law-abiding — feel the same way right now.
