Radio personality Tom Joyner has offered Rachel Jeantel, the friend of Trayvon Martin who spoke to him shortly before he died, a full scholarship to any Historically Black College or University she chooses. The website Joyner founded, BlackAmericaWeb.com, confirmed the news. Jeantel spoke to Joyner on his radio show Tuesday morning.
He said to her: "If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if its not in Florida but especially Florida, like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that. I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU youd like."
Joyner said he was moved by Jeantel's testimony. The funding for the scholarship will come from the Tom Joyner Foundation.
Jeantel reluctantly took the stand to testify for the prosecution in the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman. She told the courtroom that she heard Martin say "get off, get off" before the call cut out and Zimmerman shot him. During her testimony, which spanned two days, she was mocked online by people insulting her dress, mannerisms, and intelligence.
Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges on Saturday.

I think she better start with Kindergarden Kollege
“Historically Black College or University she chooses.”
Does she even have a high school diploma yet?
Pearls before swine.
Beeyotch best be learnin’ to read a’fore she be tryin’ dat higher learnin’
Why a black college? BTW, do we have white colleges any more? Why are they allowed to have black colleges?
Nice gesture but what good will it do if she’s functionally illiterate? Better to help her figure out a skill she enjoys and has an aptitude for and pay for her training.
I guess it’s okay that she lied and admitted she lied.
She cant read, write or speak with any skill.
next thing she will land her dream job at the post office.
How could she? She couldn’t even read.
A PhD in ethnic studies is highly likely. Just as long as it’s printed and not in cursive.
And they didn't use cursive.
She’ll take cash instead, thanks.
I think his money is safe. Really. Even grievance studies programs have some standards.
Good thing they no longer require comprehension of “cursive” as a skill. Heaven forefend they ever try to read certain print that is inherently cursive in that case . . .
Must be a scholarship to a “new school.”
This positions her nicely for a future supervisory in public service.
