So, are we actually going to have a Rachel Jeantel-free day today for once ??

Yesterday's show was so appallingly bad... an all-time low for Rush, IMO.

Rush just announced he's taking a day off tomorrow, after wasting 3 days yakking about Rachel Jeantel and the moral decline of America.

Now he's talking about brain freeze, Mets' pitcher Matt Harvey's model girlfriend, and how he wants to date celebrities. Yep, we're off to a good start yet again... :-(

Never thought I'd say this, but Rush's sub tomorrow will probably be an improvement over Rush.

The way this week's shows have gone, Rush should have just recorded his spiel from Monday, and played it over and over again through yesterday or today. Three freakin' days of Rachel Jeantel and ebonics discussion... unbelievable.

If Rush taking a WEEK off would result in the return of the "old" Rush, I say: Go for it, Rush!

The past three days' shows will go down in EIB history as the worst shows ever, IMO...

In talk radio there is a huge fallacy in thinking that you can carry the show each and every day. 75% is good.
Limbaugh has one of the finest call screeners around James Golden,”Snerdley.” He should use his talent more and talk more with the callers golden chooses to put on the air. He has had some fabulous callers but still thinks he has to do about half the show himself no matter whether it is working or not.
He needs to go to callers more.

Wow, you were in the minority. You actually enjoyed three full days of Rush endlessly dissecting Rachel Jeantel's unintelligible mumblings?? Whatever.

As I said upthread, Rush should have just recorded Monday's show and replayed it Tuesday and Wednesday - it was the same damn show all three days.

Thankfully Rush appears to have returned to his senses today: he's talking about politics and things that actually matter. I'll bet Rush was inundated with angry e-mails from Rush 24/7 members and fans yesterday. Yesterday's show was an all-time low... it was beyond bad. And I've been an El Rushbo fan since 1991.

I agree. Rush decided he was going to mail it in the past three days (especially yesterday - Worst Show Ever), and apparently didn't want to bother with callers wanting to actually discuss more important things than how funny Rachel Jeantel's "dialect" is...

Not a lot of FReepers on this Rush thread today. I wonder how many gave up and didn't even bother to tune in today, after yesterday's debacle of a show.

I almost didn't bother to tune in today. When Rush started talking about Matt Harvey's hot model girlfriend at the top of the show, I almost snapped my radio off yet again...

El Rushbo will always be the Greatest, but his show hit an all-time low yesterday with the Rachel Jeantel crap. And he's been overdoing the "Low Information Voter" nonsense too much lately as well, giving Kardashian updates, etc. Waaaay overdoing it. It was funny the first couple of times, but now most of us find it highly annoying and a waste of valuable air time.

The last excellent recent Rush show I remember was on 7/3/13, when he actually gave credit to FReepers for pre-empting the Tea Party movement by over a decade. He had an interesting interview with James O'Keefe as well that day.

Other than that recent show, I can't remember when Rush had what I'd call a "stellar" show. He was good before the 2012 elections though. I give him a lot of credit for not taking any time off in the run-up to the election...

As far as adding "fun" into Rush's political discussions, most of us miss the days when he would liven up his show with those fantastic Paul Shanklin parodies. Haven't heard any of those in ages on Rush's show...
