The FAA released a statement in response to questions about an ordinance under consideration in the tiny farming community of Deer Trail, Colo., that would encourage hunters to shoot down drones. The administration reminded the public that it regulates the nation's airspace, including the airspace over cities and towns.

Our chocolate lab is well loved and if anyone shoots her, they may as well start shooting the rest of the family, because this family will shoot back to defend her!!!!

> Obama and Holder promise only to use them
to murder dissidents against their treason.

0 has a bad track record on keeping promises and a lot of his outspoken critics seem to develop fatal health problems, car wrecks, and/or meet tragic endings.

With the photographic capabilities of drones I don’t see them flying low enough for most of us to have a weapon capable of bringing one down.

Having said that I am all in favor of shooting them down if they are used against Americans in our country.

It
s bad enough they listen in on my telephone and watch what I buy in the store with their computers, I don’t need them watching me take a leak in my back yard.

You know, we do have a Congress. It could outlaw this. It could also vote the WOT over, whether as victory or defeat, and if the terrorists keep popping up in certain ME countries, the FBI can demand their host country turn them over. If not Congress can vote for a declaration of war on that hostile nation.

As an aside, last month Congress voted to end the war in Afghanistan on Dec 31 2014.

Nope, you don't want to retrieve a drone - you can bet there will be an EPIRB or some similar locator beacon on board.

I don’t know. How many people are licensed to own machine guns, artillery pieces, tanks, etc? They have to be tired of shooting tin cans and paper targets.

I’m betting someone with a legal Ma Duece could easily bring a drone down.

And to the NSA trolls, FU.

Stingers.

Maybe some of the groups that we’ve given them to around the world would be kind enough to loan them to us...

As I recall, we gave them to the Taliban for use against the Russians.

Since these things are RC, it seems there would also be ways to disrupt frequency to bring it down without shooting it.

Hate when that happens. :)

Does anyone know of a site with photos of all of the different styles of drones currently known to be used by the government? I highly doubt they are sending up the typical military-style Predator for domestic use. Too high profile.

I saw a flying wing style small plane/drone (the size/scale was very hard to tell) with front twin props fly very low over my property recently but I kind of live on the approach to the local airport.

Amen, we are the people with the power. We say FAA you are forbidden to fly drones over our country, don’t even try.

How do you measure the altitude from the ground? You can’t. If you “eyeball” it, good luck proving your innocence in court.

I don’t, but I thought about starting a website to monitor drones above the homeland.

“The FAA warns...” Just who are these anonymous nazi bureaucraps who issue this crap? I’d like to know their names, e-mail addresses and so forth. Justice WILL prevail in the United States.

Whatever happened to property owners owning everything above their land? If a neighbor’s tree grows over your property, it’s your tree to chop down up to the property line.
