Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev criticized Sunday the West's interference in the Middle East, describing it as a "bull in a china shop."
In an interview with RT, Medvedev said he agreed with the interviewer that the West often purposefully pushed whole nations to the point of no return, beyond which it was very difficult to convince the warring sides to attempt negotiations.
"Our Western partners sometimes behave like a bull in a china shop — they squeeze in, crush everything and then don't know what to do next. I often find myself astonished at their analysts and how inconsistent their projects are that they push through by their superiors and at the outcomes they get," Medvedev told RT.
"If we're being completely honest, what good did the Arab Spring bring to the Arab world? Did it bring freedom? A little, at best. In most countries it led to endless bloodshed, regime change, and continuous unrest. I have no illusions about that either. As for the pushing that you mentioned, yes, unfortunately, that's true," Medvedev said.
What happened in Libya and Iraq and what is happening in Syria show that there is a forceful dismantling of a country's political system under the guise of the fight for national interests, an intrusion into its internal affairs and the installation a loyal political regime, Medvedev said.
"Nothing good came out of it, by the way. We know what happened and we can see what is happening. The situation in Iraq is very volatile — dozens of people are killed every day ... Of course, we are doing our best to support Iraq. We meet with Iraqi leaders; we sympathize with them, because we have a long history of contacts with them," the prime minister said.
"Libya was torn apart by this war, and there are still regions where the central authorities have not managed to regain full control, just like we expected. This is not to mention what happened to [Libyan leader Muammar] Qaddafi. This was horrible. This is another stain on the reputation of the people who initiated this military operation," Medvedev said.
Syria is also on the brink of a similar war, the prime minister said.
"Basically, there's a civil war raging in the country; it's a disaster. We have always believed that the power to solve Syria's problems should lie with its people. But the active interference that we now see might potentially lead to the same problems and create yet another unstable country in a permanent state of civil war," Medvedev said.
Except the Mythbusters proved that a bull in a china shop doesn’t actually knock anything over.

You know, if you think about it, isn’t this pretty much what we say about the Obama administration?
As for their analysts, I too scratch my head and wonder what the hell?
Look, in the past I would have read this sort of commentary and laughed it off. Today, you can’t laugh it off. It’s dead on target and we all know it.
Times sure have changed. Suspect more Americans would find themselves agreeing with the Russian Foreign Minister than John Kerry, Obama’s Secretary of State.
The saying means that we tend to overstep in delicate siituations.
What a mess.
Read “Grand Strategy of the Byzantine Empire”, it parallels with current US situation. When the West Roman Empire fell, the surviving Eastern Empire was stuck with less manpower, financially strap and unable to fight sustain wars. US today is in similar straits. Saddled with debt and unable to afford long costly wars. But like the East Romnans, the enemies do not go away. Islam is hellbent on destroying the US. After Afghanistan and Iraq the US population cannot politically stomach another Bush style Gulf War/nation building. The only thing left is cause the Muslims to fight amongst themselves. That is what the East Romans did. War emphasize usage of good intel to be highly aware of enemy intentions and actions, usage of dirty tricks (Spec Ops and CIA) to cause fights amongst the various enemies and factions within. The military is used for quick and decisive strikes because long campaigns can no longer be afforded financially. That is how the East Romans survive another 700 years after the fall of Western Rome. The US may be in the same situation due to our financial debts.
Just food for thought, I have nothing to back up that notion other than wondering how long other nations are going to put up with our crap.

It has reached a point where nearly every single problem facing America, was created and caused by those in government.
Thinking further on it, it might explain why cross border authority (Read Travis McGee’s awesome write up) was not given after all, some other big dogs were in there and the risk of a full blown international incident would bring light to what we are doing supplying muzzies..
And then the Byzantine “Holy Roman” Empire got steamrolled by the Muslim hordes who control it to this day; Constantinople became Istanbul.

We are a nation of peace, seeking to help others whenever and wherever, under just about any circumstance and sometimes with odds that would impair any other nation, any other people.
To be sure, this cluster muck was started under Bush and by any measure is a demonstrable, unmitigated, disaster.
Assad, Ghaddahfi, Mubarack and a few other tin pot dictators, in that oart if the world were/are evil. But, and there really ought to be a more oerfect word than “but” to preface the very real peace and order they kept in their fiefdom’s.
This isn’t dating where you leave a bad relationship if only to stop the pain, then start another abusive relationship. That, however, is just what we’ve done.
The Obama team has never been content to simply make an error and determine a better course of action.
No, these guys are collosal screw ups suffering from poverty of intellect and morally bankrupt.
The horror for America, the world and sadly the people whose lives and plans are now daily upended and one wonders if they will ever gain a foothold on the precipace of peace so they can get a tempo going that enables them to be productive citizens and have enduring relatiinships with all mankind.
Not in this generation.
The Obama Administration has FUBAR’d that part of the world and delivered a huge Shiite sandwich....
We are all going to be forced to take a bite and swallow.

I don't know, my friend. It's certainly not the America I grew up believing in. That America was one that avoided foreign entanglements, per our Founders' advice. But that approach began going awry somewhere around Woodrow Wilson and has been getting noticeably more awry every decade since.
Now we are the world's only hyperpower, and we seem to think that we must demonstrate to every little tinpot that we can dent his behind, and your behind over there, and your behind, and yours and yours and yours, tinpots beware! -- everywhere around the world. But what we're really doing is showing our most dangerous enemies WHAT NOT TO DO when it comes down to a real fight between them and us. That's no way to ensure our future security and safety.
