Pentagon May Revise Same-Sex Benefits
Associated Press ^ | Aug 7, 6:46 PM EDT | By LOLITA C. BALDOR

The Pentagon is poised to extend health care, housing and other benefits to the same-sex spouses of military members by the end of August, but may reverse earlier plans to provide benefits to gay partners who are not married.

According to a draft Defense Department memo obtained by The Associated Press, the department instead may provide up to 10 days of leave to military personnel in same-sex relationships so they can travel to states where they can marry legally.

The memo from Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to top defense leaders would reverse an earlier plan that would allow the same-sex partners of military members to sign a declaration form in order to receive limited benefits, such as access to military stores and some health and welfare programs.

King hussein continues with his campaign to f*ck up the American military beyond all recognition.

The sodomites are writing their own laws. Homobama is just rubber stamping them.

Well, just shut the whole thing down. It’s just a jobs program now.

When something really serious breaks out, then we can go back to the draft.

Then everyone will sacrifice.

Apparently, they have nothing better to do. This might be a sign that we’ve succeeded. We control things such that “gay partner” planning is their biggest concern.

can you imagine what a farce the military is now with open sexual perversion and “women”/Sarc/ getting pregnant by the thousands and having abortions? What a damned joke. Our once proud military in now the laughingstock of the country and the world. Just a big PC test tube. The test failed.

"as a veteran i can say i would not join this military"

Same here. I feel really bad for the cadets and midshipmen at the academies and ROTC who entered the commissioning pipeline four years ago, when perceptions of the military were far different than what this administration has wrought. Now they find themselves being commissioned as jo's having to do the bidding of their muslim overlord.

I’d rather be reading about some veteran getting state of the art medical treatment or devices for their service.

So, not only accepting it, but promoting it...with pay.

I spent 20 years in the Air Force and I would not recommend it as a job, let alone a career, to anybody.

Here’ how damn stupid the entire idea is in the US military.

You have two good drinking buddies, neither one wants to live in the barracks. Both would rather live off-base and draw about $1,000 a month BAQ (Basic Allowance for Quarters). And no meal card for them anymore, they are married so they get to draw BAS (basic allowance for subsistance) So they run on down to the local justice and “get married”. They take the money, rent a nice place and have a the coldest beer in the world to watch games with. In the meantime it’s all perfectly legal because they are “married”. I wonder if anyone thought for a damn minute about occurrences like this, because it will happen all over the Armed Forces. Marriage is either stands for something, which is the union of a man and woman, or it stands for nothing. Next it will be legalized pologamy, then some bastard wanting to marry his daughter or pretty little poodle dog. And who in the hell can tell them it’s not legal? Anthony Kennedy has already said anything goes in “marriage” in the depraved states of America, when he legalized sodomy in Texas, which is now the law of the land.
George Washington is rolling over in his grave.

does this mean that *anyone* can have a ten day vacation to get married, or only gays?

I have been associated with the military all my life-

Grandfather 1 - Army WWI, Grandfather 2 - USMC Haiti. Father served in WWII (Navy) and became an Army doctor. I entered the USMC PLC program (screwed up knee), went to OCS and became a US Navy Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), Navy contractor, Army contractor, and now an Army Civilian working with a great bunch of male and female soldiers.

This makes me mad and sick! I think EVERYBODY needs to go back in the closet!

If they are both in the military only one gets BAH if they are married.

Can I just go spend ten days at the beach and come back and say I asked him but he said no ?

Now we have privileged classes of soldiers in the armed forces.

So what. It is still a ruse. Fraud to get extra money. It will happen all over the Armed Forces. And why not?

...but may reverse earlier plans to provide benefits to gay partners who are not married.

Wouldn't that be discriminatory against straight partners who are not married?

I knew several airmen who did this to get out of the barracks. It’s not so bad now since they went to the 1 + 1 dormitories. You only share a bathroom. Some bases have separate bathrooms in each room.

They changed the BAQ rules. Its called BAH (basic allowance for housing) now and if both parties are military the highest ranking individual would get full rate and the lower ranking would draw single rate.
