HHS Seeking Obamacare Marketplace Translation Services for Over 100 Languages

News broke Wednesday that, even as the October 1 deadline for Obamacare "marketplaces" approaches, training requirements for Obamacare "navigators" were being scaled back by one-third.

With less than two months remaining, the Obama administration is also facing increasing pressure to make sure data privacy and security concerns are addressed with the new system.

"1. Effectively provide 24x7 oral over-the-phone interpretation services in any language (supporting at least 100 languages)..."

My (converted group to single payer) health insurance policy rate with Geisinger Choice is good until Dec 31st; then, who knows what’ll happen?

Ugh!

This is looking to be mass chaos beyond what anyone (particularly our LEGISLATORS) can imagine.

Already major insurance carriers are bailing out of state exchanges. As I am currently understanding it, only about 1/3 to 1/2 states have state exchanges, and individuals/families not covered by employer insurance policies must get insurance through state exchange.

Also, as I understand it, even the subsidies are issued through state exchanges.

I am not guaranteeing my facts-— )-: They are only as good as the sources.

“Folks” are saying just let ObamaCare go its course; it will die its own death, but who the hell wants to march into Oct 1 with a hackers-dream ObamaCare database, 16,000 IRS agents, run-a-mok Navigators, and trust the Obama Adm will cry “uncle.”

Our Family Farm donated the Capitol Christmas Tree to Harrisburg in 1996, when Tom Ridge was Governor. There was a big ceremony as we hand-dug, drum-laced and transported the 24ft Doug Fir, tarped, in a State Police escorted convoy to the Capitol, and installed it.

Tom and Michelle, plus all the State Legislators had us into the Exec Mansion Dining Room for dinner, after we’d cleaned-up and changed, at our motels.

I paid our way and refused all PA Taxpayers’ monies for expenses.

Mark, it actually takes 3/4 of the states to ratify.

depressing links.
I still haven’t figured out what to do. How can they figure I can afford any insurance on my income? I go to the doctor when I need to and pay for it then. Much cheaper than paying for insurance which is for stuff I don’t need.

OT

You know what a DVR is right? Have you ever heard of one for radio? A Digital Radio Recorder (DRR) maybe?

I love the DVR on the TV because I can pause and rewind up to an hour in case I miss something even if it’s not recorded. Seems like they could easily make one for radio broadcasts.

Any ideas?

Thanks. I’m covered with excellent insurance (for now), but who knows the future. These are great links to have on hand.

Also from your link-— info on the status of individual state exchanges. PA, for example.

http://kff.org/health-reform/state-profile/state-exchange-profiles-pennsylvania/

I wonder what percentage of adults have full-time jobs covered with group insurance?

You won’t pay a penalty if:

you are covered by your employer
you are covered by the government
(Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, TRICARE or the VA)
you already have purchased coverage that meets the requirements for a Bronze plan under the ACA
your income is low enough that your share of premiums (after federal subsidies and employer contributions) would total more than 8 percent of your income
your income is below the income tax filing threshold
you were uninsured for less than three months of the year (If over three, penalty is pro-rated)
you qualify for a religious exclusion
you are a member of a Native American tribe
you are an undocumented immigrant
you are in prison
