Yeah.
I (think) the original report was over-blown.
Still even now, I’m not certain...
Yes, until the fifth-column media figure out to how spin the story to support Traitorobama and his Islamothugs.
Yes and no. The homemade stuff can be toxic, though not necessarily deadly depending on the recipe and method of dispersal. See the Aum incident during 1995 in Tokyo.
Bob: Hey Joe this package looks suspicious...
Joe: Open it up...
Bob: It’s a weird looking canister...
Joe: What’s in it...
Bob: Don’t know can’t see anything, can’t even smell anything, here take a whiff...
The End...
If it had been VX, they would have been dead before the EMS got there.
And the EMS guys would likely have been dead before they got the first two stiffs out of the building.
Methinks the tests for the “weapons and nerve gas” were set off by organophosphate pesticides, of which there are many. They range in potency from malathion on the low end, to parathion, which is pretty dangerous stuff to be in as common usage as it used to be.
VX’s potency is basically off the scale of OP’s compared to OP’s used as insecticides. Somewhere in the middle are the “G” agents - GA, GB, etc - things like sarin.
Sarin exposure might leave people alive long enough to get to the ER. VX... I’d bet against it.
What we have here is another case of Chinese product malfeasance, coupled with drama queens in NYC who think that every stubbed toe is an act of terrorism and every damp basement is cause for federal disaster relief.
On the one hand, postal inspectors are FBI, or were,
in the old days, and may be worth a
non-committed, ‘hope y’all git better’.
In the middle part, yes, why were they looking, at THAT
box?
Otoh, since their postal employees, or so they day,
they are govt. workers for the self-declared king,
ho hum.
They have monitoring equipment which will alert them. Doesnt tell them what kind but would tell them its an agent to be concerned with.
If it really is nerve gas they’d be dead so I’m skeptical.
In the military they always told us it would kill you. Perhaps that was jut to keep you from injecting yourself with the 4 inch long needle for fun.
Well, there is tetraethyl pyrophospate (TEPP), which is used as a pesticide some places, but banned for such use in the U.S. because it’s too toxic to humans. I’ve read a whitepaper release by Canadian intelligence that regards it as a potential terrorist weapon, basically because it is a “medium” strength nerve gas — the LD50 is considerably higher than for military nerve agents, but still low enough that release of a goodly quantity in a confined space could lead to mass casualties.
Initial reports suggested the chemical was nerve gas, but authorities say they believe there is a low likelihood the rare gas was the cause of the inspectors sickness.
Nonetheless, the FBI has been called to the scene and additional testing is underway.
Depends on the dose I guess. But I have given atropine numerous time in my career and never killed anyone with it. It is also given routinely before some tests to control secretions I think unless its a massive dose they just didnt want u guys messing around with it
Does a branch of the NYC subway go to the JFK customs building?
Sort of like the bible-campers, huh?
FBI statement on suspicious JFK package: "The package in question was determined to be beauty supplies and nothing further."

Drama pussies
Similar to the Japanese sarin attack in 1995 that could have killed hundreds with a single drop but only four people died immediately I think because it was set off in an impure form.
I’ll bet it was this:

Probably typical bad reporting by moron reporters who don’t actually know anything about anything.
If this was real nerve gas a whole bunch of people would be dead. Probably CN or similar gas.
Why did they open the package?
