“Great Speckled Bird”
Roy Acuff
He also did a good job on “Wabash Cannon Ball”.
I used Rosie and the Originals “Angel Baby” to take wallpaper off the wall. She sounded like what happened when I stepped on the tails of several of my cats all at the same time.
Oldie but Goldie
* Rocket 88
* Smokey Places - The Corsairs
* Broken Hearted Melody - Sara Vaughn
* “Dream Lover” - Bobby Darin (And “Queen of the Hop”)
* “Lonely Teardrops” and “Reet Petite” by Jackie Wilson
* “All Shook Up” and “Jailhouse Rock” Elvis
* “Dream” - Everly Brothers
* “Great Balls of Fire” - Jerry Lee Lewis
* “Johnny Be Good” - Chuck Berry
I could write titles for months. The 50’s had the greatest “oldies” (and you could dance to all of them).
Lots of “Do Whop” should also be on this list, Spaniels, Skyliners, Sonny Til and the Orioles, Moonglows, etc.
Good one randita ((((Hugs))))

Where to start? There are a million oldies I love, but for some reason “slow dancing” popped into my head. I think this is one of the best “slow dancing” songs. Play this one with your gal in your arms and you’ve got her forever.
