March on Washington 2013 More Liberal Distortion

Looking over the program for the coming festivities in Washington to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the civil rights march on Washington, and Dr. King’s famous August 28, 1963 “I have a dream” speech, it’s hard to not feel sober about the whole thing.

I say sober because there is good news and bad news.

What’s the good news?

There has been monumental progress in the quality of life, on average, that black Americans lead today compared to 1963.

The bad news?

Fifty years is a long time, and the progress that has been achieved is not nearly what it should be or could have been.

Unfortunately, the program of the “50th Anniversary March on Washington”, posted on the event website, shows that the liberals who control the event have little interest in serious thought about why there have been failures, and, needless to say, the event is devoid of a single black conservative spokesperson.

Few would have dreamed in 1963 that within 50 years a black man would be president of the United States – let alone twice elected.

We’ve got black millionaires, even a couple black billionaires.

The inherent stigma of race has changed dramatically.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 87 percent of Americans approve of marriage between blacks and whites compared to only 4 percent who approved in 1959.

Among only white Americans, 84 percent approve of black-white marriage today, compared to just 17 percent in 1969.

Yet, despite many blacks today living the American dream, that institutional racism is no longer legal in America, and that acceptance of black Americans as every bit as human and normal as white Americans is in much better shape today than 50 years ago, the overall picture of black America is not good.

According to the Census Bureau, median black household net worth in 2010 was $4,955 compared to a median white household net worth of $110,000.

Median black household income in 2011 was $32,229 compared to median white household income of $52, 214.

Compared to all median household income by ethnicity – white, Hispanic, Asian, black – black median household income is the lowest.

Black liberals want us to believe that huge economic disparities persist today between black Americans and the rest of the nation because of racism and continuing civil rights injustices.

Fifty years ago blacks faced major institutional barriers to living in America as free, normal citizens. As result of the civil rights movement, and the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, those barriers, which allowed differential treatment under the law and permitted institutional racism, were dismantled.

Of course, there are still individuals with us who carry racial prejudice in their hearts.

But to suggest, as liberals do, that institutionalized racial injustice explains today’s disparities in educational and economic achievement between black and white America is to assure that disparities will continue and that the real problems will never be addressed.

The “50th Anniversary March on Washington” does our nation a disservice by going beyond just commemorating a great achievement and suggesting that disappointing progress is because that achievement was incomplete. That blacks lag behind today because many “continue to suffer civil and economic injustices.”

Not true. Black Americans are today free.

It may be fun to come to Washington to remember and celebrate.

But the answers for blacks today are not in Washington. They are in black homes, black schools, black hearts, and black minds.

We need today a Personal Responsibility Movement. If it had gotten started after the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964, instead of turning to government for programs, blacks would be in far better shape today.

It’s why increasing numbers of black Americans are now looking to a conservative agenda that honesty examines and looks to fix what is broken in black communities and correctly identifies these as mostly moral rather than political challenges

Black parents are still teaching their children to hate whites. The man is still the enemy of all black people.

Nothing has changed except now more blacks and whites are on food stamps than ever before.

The whole event was bogus. From the lionization of "St. Marty" to the obligatory "we shall overcome" chants leading into the hate whitey speech and then demanding more involvement (i.e. money) from the federal government to fix the supposed problem. We've seen them before, we will see them again under a different name.

Please don't buy into this; it's time to fight back

Dr King would be horrified if he knew how “civil rights leaders” have bastardized his name and his philosophy.

In addition, the biggest problem blacks face economically is the welfare state. That easy money keeps far too many from getting entry level jobs and working their way up.

The second biggest problem they face is crime from other blacks. This includes shoplifting. These so called “food deserts” lefties talk about are a result of stores not being able to turn a profit in black neighborhoods.

The truth is that we have two difference cultures. The Godly Negro person is going to fit in fine with other cultures. They can assimilate and do very well, because they share a common culture of what a civil society looks like and they are able and skilled to act and behave as other civil people do. No problem.

The rest of the negros don’t like our American civil culture.
They are tribal African people. Most of them don’t even like each other. Heck they kill each other over a pair o shoes. HELLO! We can not change that about them. We are NOT God.

We are too restrained for them, and they are too insane for us.

We used to have a right to associate and that was working well, now their culture is being forced upon us and we are forced to feed them, clothe them- and save them.

And there has been no backlash- yet.

We need today a Personal Responsibility Movement.

Amen.

The issues many blacks face today arise from their own behavior. Fix the behavior and you fix the problems.

Black poverty is not the cause of dysfunctional black behavior, dysfunctional behavior is the source of the poverty. ---I'll add that the dysfunctional behavior is encouraged by our current welfare system. Subsidize a behavior and you get more of it.

Back in 1963, the food stamp program didn’t exist. The whole mindset of the welfare state is a big change from the way the country was in 1963.

to listen to the liberals, you wouls swear that poverty has resulted because minimum wage jobs don’t pay enough, and that too many employers have relocated to suburbia, so that people in cities depending on public transportation can’t get to the jobs which don’t pay enough to start with.

You would also swear that poverty is the result of the baby mama culture. To listen to the liberals, unwed pregnancy just somehow happens to females and they are victims. There is never any talk of the life choices which cause them to have unwed pregnancies. Nor is there talk of choices to drop out of school and do God knows what in the streets with youth gangs.

Liberals view the world very differently.

So in one year, white income was cut in half and black income sextupled?

Black parents are still teaching their children to hate whites.

My wife and I don't teach ours that.

The man is still the enemy of all black people.

No, my family doesn't believe that, either.

You're correct on the food stamps. On average, at least.
