Americans are told we need to have a national conversation in which we talk about race.
And yet, when we have horrific crimes with white victims where the alleged perpetrators are African-American or Latino, we're told that we can't talk about race.
This isn't true when the roles are reversed. If the victims are African-American or Latino, and the alleged perpetrator is white, we talk about race until our throats go dry.
Confused? Join the club.
If Americans don't understand it, how are we to explain any of this to the grieving family of Christopher Lane, a 22-year-old college baseball player from Melborne, Australia, who was recently gunned down while jogging in a neighborhood a world away -- Duncan, Oklahoma?
According to police, the evidence suggests that the shooting was not premeditated and random. It could have been part of a gang initiation, according to a theory floated by the father of a boy who the three teenagers allegedly tried to recruit.
But here's the headline: Prosecutors say that the killing was not about race, despite the fact that one alleged assailant left a long cyber trail on social media where he talked about hating "woods" (derogatory slang for white people) and glorified guns and violence.
"At this point, the evidence does not support the theory that Christopher Lane was targeted based upon his race or nationality," said District Attorney Jason Hicks.
As ghoulish as it sounds, it may be that the three teenagers responsible for the shooting -- 15-year-old James Edwards and 16-year-old Chancey Luna, who have been charged with first-degree murder, and 17-year-old Michael Long, who has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder for driving the car -- were simply bored and decided to kill someone. I agree. It goes without saying that a black person can be Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Marva Collins, Alveda King ... or a black person can be “Tres Von” and a lot of worse people. It’s not because of their genes. It’s because of their character, and their character is formed, to a large extent, by their culture.
By leaving “race” out, we can all discuss what leads to a functional and productive life, irrespective of who people’s ancestors were.

Ever since the general belief that “You can’t say the N word”, that was it, game over.
EVERY behavior by them has some excuse.

I’m quoting numerous grandmothers there, I’m not calling anyone a “boy”.
But there are few I would call “men”.
If a Muslim kills people, it is never terrorism regardless of the number hurt or killed.
If a black injures or kills a white it is never the result of racism regardless of what is said before and after the crime.
If a white man spends their entire life trying to help and assist the black community, that person is still a racist not because on any thought or deed, but simply because of their race.
It is getting to the point where words no longer have any meaning.
The left decide what a word means and worse yet, are just as likely to change the definition when ever it suits them.
I no longer speak to my leftest family members since we are speaking different languages, there can be no communication and without communications problems can not be resolved.
I don’t believe what they call racism today is what one normally understands as racism.
The segment of society represented by the blacks have changed from the past. I have worked with, played with and enjoyed being with, a number of blacks in my lifetime. They were good, honest, hard working, family oriented people - and those who are alive still are. The others are probably rolling over in their graves.
I have changed, some,in that today I am apprehensive driving through black communities in urban areas, lock my car doors when I am passing by a groups of blacks hanging out on a corner, etc. I don’t want to feel this way, It was’nt this way a few years ago, I wish it wasn’t so.
But as a community they have changed as evidenced by the latest published data that 72% of black births are to unwed mothers, that the prisons are heavily disproportionately filled with blacks, not because of racism but because they disproportionately commit crimes, and on and on.
It is the black community that needs to make a change.

I know your probably gonna respond you’re not any of those things and I’m the irrational one making freepers look bad. Seriously, his column in the Dallas Morning News for most of the past decade I have had to almost always disagree with. I know he sounds sensible but like any rino his policies advocated would destroy this country and our sovereignty.

Words in general have no meaning to anyone on the left. The only things they seem to embrace are suffering, sacrifice and death. They seem to distort all words to fit into those meanings. If it does not imply pain of some sort it holds no meaning to them. They relish in the ill fortunes of others. Most especially the plight of the black man. Every action they take drives them deeper down the death spiral.
We are way past any ‘discussion’ about race.
We need to have a discussion about the undeclared war ‘feral youths’ have declared on whites of all ages.
We all must plan to be George Zimmerman when the time comes.
