Is Iran Behind the Syria Gas Atrocity?
American Thinker Magazine ^ | August 27, 2013 | James Lewis

Obama has retreated time and time again, in the face of clear and present danger from mullahs who preach martyrdom with nukes and long-range missiles. They threaten not just Israel, but the Arab oil regimes that have been Iran's deadly enemy for a thousand years. When Obama pushed over Hosni Mubarak's regime in Egypt, the pillar of peace in the Middle East, the mullahs saw their chance to forge a Shi'ite Crescent between Iran, Syria, and Lebanon, all controlled by Tehran. The purpose is to surround Israel with thousands of modern missiles armed with chemical and possibly nuclear weapons. It is also to knock down the Turks (who are Sunnis), the Egyptians (ditto), and most of all, the House of Saud, sitting on the biggest pool of usable oil in the world. In Arabia, very small tribes control enormous oil wealth. Arabia is the biggest strategic objective for Iran. Iran's war theocracy plus oil means world power. Obama has failed miserably in the last five years to knock down the Iranians before they had nukes. The United States could have done it, the way we did it with Saddam, with minimal risk, by imposing a no-fly zone over Iran with our overwhelming naval and air power. Obama failed to act, and allowed that window of opportunity to slam shut. Today the mullahs are within reach of their aim of owning their own nuclear bombs. They fully understand Obama's soft spots.

The WH spokesmouth said that the Syrian govt was the only entity to possess the rocket that put the gas in there. I think it’s all a front.

I think every Muslim country sucks. They would love to kill us all, and we should leave them alone to kill each other. There are no good guys. Why would we want to help any of them?

No Casings have been sown sith Serial Numbers on them that can be traced. Only gas cans that the alleged chemicals were deployed in.

Me too. Clinton did it on Kosovo. We were on the wrong side there too, and the media just kept covering for him.

We don’t know that anything really happened.
Videos of people lying around looking pitiful are easy to make.

And neither side likes us. So? Tough. Sucks to be them.

Iran, a supposed ally of the al-Assad regime, would have many reasons to deploy a poison-gas attack. The “false-flag” factor would probably enough to panic the Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut into an inappropriate response, as they have a fixated belief that al-Assad is the only bad guy here.

Now, Bashar al-Assad has made one or two bad choices here, but then, he has not been given a lot of options, considering what has happened in Libya and Egypt, and the ferocious and aggressive positioning of the Muslim Brotherhood. Saudi Arabia and Iran are having a proxy war, with the two sides (Sunni and Shi’ite) each vying to become the master control of the Worldwide Caliphate.

Much like the series, “The Highlander”, in the end there can be only one. The United States should have no dog in this fight, but for the fact the Current Occupant of the White Hut, and the puppetmaster, Valerie Jarrett, are somewhat at odds as to which side to support.

It’s Bush’s Fault.

EVERYTHING is Bush’s Fault.

Didn’t you get the memo from 2000? It’s never been rescinded...

Iran’s apologists have argued that Iran wants nuclear weapons to prevent another devastating Sunni invasion of their territory. They suffered over 800,000 casualities when Iraq invaded in 1985. No nuclear armed country has ever had a conventional invasion of its territory or has had an unfavorable peace imposed. The apologists also claim that the cataclysmic anti Israel rhetoric was a strategy to assume the mantle of Islamic warrior leadership and deflect any criticism from their Sunni enemies. Netanyahu however does not have the luxury of making a mistake and must assume the Iranians intend to do as they say.It does seem that the Iranian involvement in Syria directly threatens Israel. If the mullahs have supplied Assad with short range missiles, we may soon get a very good idea the effectiveness of that Iron Dome. The Russians may be very right. Kerry and Obama may be way over their heads and an American attack may lead to the catastrophe of a much wider war.

Not a very good article in my opinion. The guy is all over the map and none of it makes sense, except that he is probably a McCain type GOPe war hawk. Then he closes article by recommending that conservatives get behind Obama. Screw that...lol. The man is arming AQ and Islamists..the people that have actually attacked us.

If the Tsarnaev brothers could put together an explosive from commonly found products so I guess it wouldn’t be that difficult for a terrorist group to put together a chemical weapon. That Japanese cult caused a real commotion on the Japanese subways. They were able to find the resources.

Just look at the light weights that we have in our government—Obama, Hilary, Kerry and a whole line of losers standing behind them. And the Republican party isn’t much better. The two parties are a bunch of selfish mediocraties who conspire to keep out anybody who has real ability or integrity. They are the losers clubs.

I have never seen a credible analysis to that effect. That doesn't mean it's true or not, just that the size of Iran and the terrain have me questioning its validity.

Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.........I think we will strike and I think Iran and Syria are stupid enough to attack Israel in backlash........I think there’s about to be some housecleaning, and I think it’s gonna be a little less cordial than Comrade Putin is accustomed to.......
