Those haven’t been destroyed AFAIK. Those rifles were purchased from the US by S Korea. Private importers have been trying for years to get permission to import them, held up by both the Bush and Obama administrations. IIRC, the CMP is not authorized to act as a firearms importer.

When a new Congress comes into session, it starts all over. Bills, impeachments, etc., cannot be carried over from one Congress to the next.

Incorrect. If the House that is leaving office votes for impeachment, it would not carry over to the Senate of the new Congress.
The new House coming in would have to impeach all over again.
