You’re right. The IRS already keeps Tea Party non-profit applications in limbo so they can neither raise money nor sue for rejection. They’ll find ways to assess fees and collect, when there is so much revenue at stake and assessors hired for this very purpose.

It’s really very simple. You get flagged for audits on your yearly taxes. Every year from now until the day you die.

The government’s power to harass is limitless.

If you are a business, it can harass you into bankruptcy with endless legal fees. The government’s budget for legal actions is limitless.

If you are an individual, well, you are SOL if they flag you for “attitude adjustment”.

My late father wrote a very polite, but critical, letter to Slick Willie and got audited for the next 3 years.

Have you ever been audited???

I have several times, and everytime I go in it is for a different slant on the same reason...

They know what my activism and associations are, and that is an unspoken part of it...

The big part is the money I do make...My capital gains over the last 10 years has been more than what I make in salary, if I am working, and thru their narrow-mindedness, can’t seem to understand that concept...They seem to think I am doing something wrong, and want really bad to catch me at it...

One bit of advise...Never go into ANY meeting with these people without legal representation...Demand full disclosure of evidence, depositions, and make sure you have YOUR ducks in a row beofre walking into that meeting...

Be mature, polite, strong, and listen to that attorney of yours says to do, and say...Do not say a single word without consulting with that representation...

You can end the meeting at anytime, you were invited, so you can leave...All they can do is call you back...

Some auditors are pretty smart, some are dumb and make up for that by being overbearing, pushy, rude and threatening...At which point you smile and say, “We are done here for now...Call me when you have someone who is more mature and capable of resolving these discrepancies YOU claim are present!”

You can turn the tables on them...And there is not a damn thing they can do about it when the tapes are reviewed...You usually do not see the same person either, in some cases...And that is somewhat of an advantage for you as they are fragmented and may not be well briefed on your demeanor, or capabilities (strengths)...

Keep calm and press on!!!
