Conservatives shower Sen. Cruz of Texas with praise at Orlando gathering
Palm Beach Post ^ | Aug 31, 2013 | George Bennett

Cruz, one of four potential 2016 presidential candidates to speak to the two-day gathering, got by far the most enthusiastic response from the limited-government, free-market group.

He received standing ovations when he called for abolishing the Internal Revenue Service and repealing the federal health care law.

Cruz, Rubio, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Texas Gov. Rick Perry all made speeches to the group and got the most enthusiastic responses when they sounded anti-Washington themes.

While the 2016 election is more than three years away, Tucker and other activists said it’s not too soon to size up which candidate can run against what Tucker expects to be a Hillary Clinton Democratic candidacy.

If you google “Perry withdraws ‘heartless’ comment”...

Rick Perry to Newsmax: I Regret ‘Heartless’ Comment on Immigration

http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/RickPerry-immigration-heartless-education/2011/09/28/id/412594

First sentence says he apologized for describing those who disagree with policy in that way.

Therefore he didn’t say it about Cruz.

Cruz wasn’t even on the horizon then as a politician.

But I’m pretty sure you know these things already.

A lot of people are so sorry for various statements once they hit the media. You know that Mr. Perry was expressing his true beliefs the first time.

I would like this ticket...

Cruz/Jindal at top of ticket.

Then Palin in the cabinet, also Treasury as Rand Paul.

An important consideration -- we need a conservative, WHO CAN WIN against a Dem candidate, whether it's Hillary or whoever.

Hillary won't be the nominee. Her health problems are far worse than is generally known.

the third...the third one...the third one was...

Ha! I hope Perry doesn't run again. He is basically a good guy, but his presidential primary campaign was embarrassing.

I have said so many times that more than 90 percent of the folks we elect as Republicans are not real conservatives and they fake it with tough speeches for which Rick Perry is famous.

You must have forgotten that Perry was supporting Dewhurst for Sen. at the time; thus his deragatory comments. Cruz beat out Dewhurst in the runoff and became Senator... THANK GOD!!

Jindal, while not eligible (like Rubio isn’t)for POTUS, has worked in DC before and might be a good pick for a Cabinet position. .....Just something to think about.

Bs bs bs. No conservative can “win” because Big Media, the democrats and and the republicans join forces to kill them.

So let's just run another RINO to make their job easier for them.

And we need to support whoever our side ends up with. I know I'll get blasted for saying so, but a rabid dog would be an improvement over Obama. Some say that compromising their integrity, by voting for a flawed candidate is verboten - I say, look at what we get when we demand perfection.

Perry/Cruz 2016.

Per the 12th Amendment you lose the Texas electoral votes right off the bat. And with that probably the election.

yea, let’s put a canadian in the white house. it couldn’t be any worse then what we’ve got now
/s

we don’t follow the Constitution and people wonder why the current _resident and his party proceed to trample all over it.

we’re (supposedly) a nation of laws. laws are contracts of agreements built upon previous agreements. if a contract is in breech, then any subsequent contracts are also in breech. since the founding agreement is called the Constitution... and it’s in breech... it’s tough to understand how any law in the United States is still in effect, other then general agreement. at which point, we would cease to be a nation of laws and devolve into a nation of men.

which is where we are today.
