Ginsburg: Gay marriage shows Constitution’s genius

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who recently officiated at a friend’s same-sex wedding, told a Philadelphia audience Friday that growing acceptance of gay marriage reflects the “genius” of the U.S. Constitution.

Ginsburg said equality has always been central to the Constitution, even if society has only applied it to minorities—be they women, blacks or gays—over time.

“So I see the genius of our Constitution, and of our society, is how much more embracive we have become than we were at the beginning,” Ginsburg said in a far-ranging discussion of her work at the National Constitution Center, steps from the nation’s founding at Independence Hall.

Ginsburg, the second woman named to the high court, has now served for 20 years and leads the court’s liberal minority.

That was related to the so-called Arab Spring, too. The same South Africa that is harassing and murdering white farmers is what she wanted as a model for Egypt’s constitution.

South Africa says this about its own constitution:
South Africa’s Constitution is one of the most progressive in the world and enjoys high acclaim internationally.
Their exhaustive bill of rights reads more like the USSR’s constitution than the USA’s one. Hmm.

A judge is supposed to fulfill the constitution, not interpret it. Of course she is clueless that trying to fulfill a life with a same sex individual is worse than marrying some one to a blow up doll to abuse... but she remains adamant that she can redress this “inequality”.

As Christ said, stones shapes in sex statues even would cry out for being misused... but these people are blinded and crazy stubborn unrelenting and unrepenting

Ginsberg has bought herself a one way ticket to hell and the lake of fire. That is exactly what the idiot has done.

With all due respect to Ginsburg, she is in a fantasy world.

Remember, equality issues got started in Genesis 3:5 imo.

Regarding the Constitution, Ginsburg ignores that the so-called equality aspect of the Constitution is based on PC interpretations of the Constitution by corrupt lawmakers to win votes from low-informations citizens.

More proof that Supreme Court Justices should be on term limits.

It is not my constitution they talk about.

Muslims think Jesus walked down from the cross. Well my Jesus did not.

Same thing here: the founders did not envision a story of an America with gay “rights” or sexual priviledges subsidized by the state in Fluke condom distribution and redistribution of sex an genders.

My America vs. her world... not the same story in the end.

I can easily twist stories like she does to ignore the plight of women like in Islam... feminism has indeed hell to pay for.

Dear Justice Ginsburg: The Framers wrote the Constitution to be read and understood by us common folks. The fact that lawyers cannot understand it because it is written plainly indicates that you are a mental midget and have no business on the SCOTUS. That also includes Justices Breyer, Kennedy, Sotomayor, and Kagan.

Another analytically dysfunctional Leftist. The Constitution certainly was never intended to overturn the cultural heritage of any of the States; nor was it ever centered around notions of equality--something not found among living species.

Now there is an exception, but that was abandoned by the XVIth Amendment: The provision in Article I, Sec. 9, that any direct tax on the people had to be "per capita"--that is the same exact amount (not percentage) for every individual.

Ms. Ginsburg is either confused or a student of the Pravda/Goebbels school of reporting, where the desired end, always overrides the truth.

Justice Ginsburg apparently does not understand the concept of language, therefore, could not possibly understand the Constitution, or anything else for that matter. A man cannot be a wife, and a woman cannot be a husband, therefore, same-sex “marriage” does not exist, regardless of whether society is “more accepting” of it or not, as there is no marriage without a husband and a wife. Basic language. “Equality” has nothing to do with it.

By this logic, it shows a lack of “equality” for women being able to get pregnant, but men are not able to do so.

“..made for a moral and religious people...”

You beat me to it. Great quote which shows how out of step the left is with the founders vision of self-government. Govt protected murder and sodomy are storing up great wrath.
