Boehner and Menendez react to Putin’s op-ed: “I was insulted,” “I almost wanted to vomit”
Hot Air ^ | 9/12/2013

Via the Free Beacon and the Corner. No surprise that two of O’s few Syria allies in Congress would be outraged on his behalf by Putin’s latest humiliation, but honestly, I’ve been against striking Syria all along and I was irritated by the op-ed too. Makes me wonder how many doves on the Hill are starting to chafe at the obvious enjoyment the Kremlin and its client are taking in embarrassing the White House, notwithstanding the fact that our president spent a full year moronically bumbling his way into this mess. You may hate having Ryan Leaf at quarterback, but that doesn’t make it easier to watch the other team celebrate for 15 minutes in the end zone after they pick him off and run it back. Hitting Syria is unpopular enough with American voters that Putin can probably go on dancing for awhile before sentiments start to shift in Congress, but there’ll be no new “resets” in 2017, needless to say. Coming soon from John McCain’s press shop: It’s time to arm the Novosibirsk rebels.

Speaking of which, why did the Times greenlight Putin’s piece after rejecting an op-ed submitted by McCain when he was GOP nominee in 2008? Both pieces were of national interest because of the stature of the author; both pieces were crafted with an eye to advancing a political agenda, not stating a candid opinion. If campaign talking points don’t qualify as news during a presidential election, why does Kremlin propaganda qualify in the middle of a big UN charade?

With a one-party tyranny of Obama and the corrupt GOP-E, coupled with a culture that is a putrid, degenerate sewer, the American Republic is already near death.

At least Russia has a LEADER who is guided by serving his nation’s interests. Plus, he’s also a MAN. Unlike the faggot POS we have polluting the White House.

Even after laughing his balls off, Putin has more balls than Obama.

Boehner and Menendez, this is what happens when you throw yourself behind someone like Obama. When he humiliated himself, he humiliated you as well. Everyone else knew Obama was out of his depth: when are you going to figure it out?

Obama elevated Putin to the status of a world leader, by acting like a school bully daring Assad to "cross that line". Assad crossed it, and Putin effectively backed him up. And Obama backed down.

Maybe someday Boehner and Mendendez will realize that if they hadn't been enabling Obama by protecting him -- FIVE YEARS AGO -- we wouldn't be in this mess now.

Too bad that the US has become “The Evil Empire”.

A lot of us wants to vomit.

You make a number of good points. We have been drifting leftwards for 50 years (or more). Even during the 80s, government still expanded, schools got more ideological, businesses became more fettered, and individual liberty shrunk. And that was with a conservative president. Meanwhile, Russia was given a clean state, and fundamentally changed — the notion that they are communist, is silly. In most ways, it is hard to state exactly why we would consider Russia to be on our left. Looking at the size and scope of our government, I am not sure I would say that Sweden is even on our left.

While many consider Russia to be our enemy (and it is true that their interests and ours collide often), we have so many enemies internally that we need look no further than our borders.

Stick it back in your pants. It's completely understandable to feel that something better is right around the corner (in this case, across the Atlantic). I merely suggest that, before you wish for something, try studying it first.

The folks on FR who "wish" for a "strong" leader such as Vladi, deserve him, as I said. Problem is . . . you won't be able to whine about him on FR, because he will shut it down.

McCain and Graham screaming for an investigation on Benghazi just means they’re looking at a way of deflecting blame from their scumbag selves.

And I wonder who it is they are maneuvering to lead "investigation?" The only thing missing here is arlen specter with another magic bullet.

Save it...

If you don’t understand how far down the rabbit hole we have gone, as a nation, when the Ex-KGB Officer President of Russia, is holding the moral high ground over the Peace Prize-winning Pres of the US, then you are really screwed.

Funny how ostensibly conservative FReepers bolted for the rabbit hole of relativism, right?

I would have liked it better if they had had this same reaction to Kerry’s statement and Obama’s follow-up.

I feel like vomiting when I think about Bob Menendez paying to have sex with 14-year-old girls.

Go ahead and cry, Boehner. We all know that you want to cry your heart out.

This country looks so stinking weak.... I am amazed that we haven’t suffered an armed invasion.

It’s only a matter of time before our streets are covered in blood because of our own corrupt, incompetent and cowardious leadership.

LOL... a sissy and a pedophile want to puke over what the lead Bear had to say.

Putin - 2016

Back when I was younger and even more stupid than I am now, I tried my hand at boxing. There were opponents that I truly did not like but after a few rounds in the ring with them I respected them.
Putin is a Communist just like Obama but he doesn’t try to hide it like the pansy in the White House. I respect him for that.

Putin is the most popular leader in the Western World.

Apart from the fact that most in the Western World would never move to Russia, you have a point.

NSA spying on the people - exceptionalism

Federal agencies deliberately working to smother “dangerous” political thought - exceptionalism

An ever growing bureaucratic fungal mat smothering entrepreneurship and crushing all will to strive or achieve - exceptionalism

Cradle to grave indoctrination of the communist party line in schools and ever growing social agencies - exceptionalism

Elected officials getting fabulously wealthy by legislating financial advantages for themselves - exceptionalism

Companies and unions buying influence with elected officials who legislate financial advantages for all 3 - Exceptionalism

Pedophile congressmen getting away with sleeping with underage prostitutes - exceptionalism

30 million + illegal aliens overrunning the country unchecked for someone elses political and financial gain - exceptionalism

I could go on all day about how America has failed its founders but I’d rather point out that the little bitches whining about Putin sure don’t want to talk about how they have bent American exceptionalism over a stump and taken turns raping it.
