If they don’t post it on the door, in Indiana, one can carry. Open or concealed.

It’s their crappy, overpriced lacquer thinner they sell that keeps me out of their establishments.

Might just have to holster up and go in for a bran muffin someday though

I'd love to join in the chorus of Starbucks haters..but...today on my customary stop I received my third free tall coffee in as many days, two at the same location. On one visit I was forced to wait about 45 seconds whilst a sever had a phone chat and she cheerily declined my payment as she bid me adieu; then I was in a drive thru and waited in line maybe 3 minutes and I was handed my cup, thanked and waved off; today I got my 10th order free per usual at a different location.

And besides, if you think about it, their bigwig is tossing out platitudes to assuage lefty pressure throwing them only the tiniest of bones, even as he's winking at customers packing the heat. Viva la Starbucks.

Indeed. I had a gold card and limed going 5here for a treat. Alas, I will not spend another dime in their store. Or on their kcups, Tazo iced tea or whatever else they make.

I am done.

They should stick to making faggity ass caramel lattes for 100 lb, 6’ 4”, tattoo covered, anti American, metrosexual douchebags.

Standard startup issue is at least one douchebag per new store.

They function like duck decoys and soon there is an entire flock of them.

It’s their business so if they say no, then it is no.

Just the same as if a wedding photographer has the right to say NO to photographing a gay wedding.

What? They don’t have that right?

Never mind.

It’s their business
They have the 1A right to associate (or not) with whomever they want.

I can count on one hand the number of times I was in SB. I would have to be dying from caffeine withdrawal to go there again.

Hell...Starbucks should sell guns with their coffee...

Well they do sell gunpowder Chinese tea, IIRC.

Starbucks is probably under a lot of pressure right now from Obama , so the shareholders are screaming. I don’t agree, but I think the letter was respectful and people should in general observe it. I didn’t get the impression that they were putting up metal detectors at the doors.

They’ve been pretty good on this, but the government is very powerful - never more so in my entire long lifetime - and what it can’t do legally to destroy their business, it will do through the press.

As much as I dislike the policy, it is their store, they can run it as they wish.

Can they really? In a conceal carry state, on what basis could they prevent someone from entering the store? Starbucks shouldn't be allowed to impose their own laws. Can they decide to discriminate on the basis of race or sex?

I don’t patronize Starbuck’s. I do believe that if you’re doing business in a state you should have no problem abiding by the law of that state that allows for concealed carry, I don’t have a problem with open carry although I wouldn’t put a target on MY back. I work at not being in a gun free zone.

This could be a non-issue, but some want to prove a point. Open carry arouses fear in many folks, like it or not.
If you think OC will eventually deaden their fear, forget it.
Their fear is being reinforced from all sides.

Carry concealed, issue goes away.

They are a private business and can set their own rules, no matter how stupid.
But I have to ask, what is it (besides their horrible overpriced coffee) that would make me a dangerous person inside but not while carrying legally outside.

No shirt, no shoes, no service. All businesses should have the right to service whom they wish. Just as the bakery that didn’t want to make a cake for a same sex couple. You can’t bring anything but a clear ziplock baggie now days to an NFL game. That said, I’ve never set foot inside a Starbucks and don’t have any intention of ever doing so.
