Paul: We probably can't get rid of ‘Obamacare’
Associated Press ^ | Sep. 21, 2013 5:15 PM EDT | Thomas Beaumont

Posted on 09/21/2013 2:28:46 PM PDT by Olog-hai

Republican Sen. Rand Paul says President Barack Obama’s health care law probably can't be defeated or gotten rid of.

And he’s suggesting there is little he and other congressional Republicans can do to stop the law from taking effect. …

If the House refuses to pass a bill funding obamacare then it doesn’t get funded. Period. And according to James Madison, that is their right and duty.

The senate has no say in the matter. If they amend the bill and send it back to the house, then the house rejects it. Then begins passing a series of individual “clean” bills to fund each and every essential department one by one. If Reid amends them, reject them again. They can play this game right up to election day. The people will not be fooled by Obama/Reid.

The Republicans don’t have the numbers, unfortunately.

And probably will never have them until the Federal Freebies dry up. Of course by then it will be too late and we will be a northern state of Mexico.

Is there anything in CONTEXT about what Rand said?

Remember, this is the Associated Press....they could be posting this to discourage us!

Great idea.

That is how we got rid of the IRS.

And the EPA.

Interior Department.

Department of Education....

Wait...that didn’t work with them?

“Aint it a bit early to show your hand?”

Reality check: everybody knows how this story will end.

Republicans do not have the numbers to defeat Obamacare at the moment.

Having said that, note that there are no quotes from Rand in the excerpt that was posted.

Also in the article:

“He says that working from the position of not funding the health care law might help render it, quote, “less bad.””

Cruz and Lee are his attack dogs. At the end of the day he’s just trying to negotiate from a position of strength and hopefully postpone/delay the obamacare implementation.

Only a republican president will sign the repeal.

This is still America.
Where there is a Will there is a Way.
Actually, getting rid of ObamaCare should be a slam dunk given that the majority of Americans have ALWAYS been against it despite voluminous unprecedented lying propaganda from Obama, the Demmunist Party, and the Lame Stream Media.
I'm extremely disappointed if Rand Paul actually said this.

I agree. Rand Paul doesn’t believe in the first amendment, after all.

It’s the first amendment that says: “or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

That’s the part that’s being appealed to.

There is a grievance...ObamaCare is killing the nation already and will complete the act after it gets funded.

We are raising our voices demanding, “Don’t Do It OR Face the Consequences!”

Rand apparently believes the people are inconsequential.

This is the biggest scam perpetrated on the “middleclass” in American history! These scumbags including chief justice who failed to kill it when it came to him, are responsible and I hope they will be held accountable

Not much context at the link, but now that I think about it, this has been his consistent opinion.

Great idea.

Yeah just like it was a great idea for a few million "principled" conservatives to sit out the 2012 elections.

That is how we got rid of the IRS. And the EPA. Interior Department. Department of Education.... Wait...that didn’t work with them?

That's because a republican president has never had a supermajority in Congress.

Yes we can!

Yes we can!

If they can push this unconstitutional socialist piece of garbage law on us, we can change it back. Maybe not this time... but we must never stop pushing back against the forces trying to steal our liberty and individual rights to form their personal socialist utopia and eventually NWO.

Find me a quote where Cruz, or Lee, EVER said anything different, that this CR would ever pass the senate.

Lee and Cruz said in a joint FOX interview, that obamacare would never be stopped in DC, given the odds, but they were counting on the American people to rise up, sign that petition and pressure their senators and representatives.

Lets not “rinse and repeat” stupid again, and start chopping up and dividing the base
on this already. We did this to one another last time.

The strategy is to rally the people, and not demoralize our only handful of heroes willing to fight.

The media wants Cruz, Lee and Paul to be foresaken by us.

The Supreme Joke of the US ruled that it was a tax. So in essence what Paul is saying is, once a tax is enacted it can never be removed.

Oh,thank you Ron. I know you “pure” conservatives don’t want people like me in your movement. You think that I want to turn the GOP into a Libertarian oasis and that is the furthest thing from the truth. I have no problem voting for a Ted Cruz for president in 2016. We need to get our economic house in order and to reestablish ourselves as the lone superpower on the world scene. Yeah Ron, I believe those things are far bigger priorities than abortion, gay marriage, and drug legalization. You sir had better open your eyes and realize that there are millions of people in this country, who may not agree with conservatives on every issue, who are just as tired of the direction this country is taking as all of you are. Don’t tell us non-conservatives to go to hell. You may get to the finish line but you need millions of people like us to win the race against the liberals.
