Deputy spokesperson Marie Harf said 59 people have been killed and 175 injured. Among the injured were five Americans.

Her statement also said:

"The United States condemns in the strongest terms the despicable massacre of innocent men, women and children at the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to those killed and injured in this cowardly act and we extend our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.

Ir seems the State Dept and White House have misplaced the statement condemning the 77 Christians massacred in Pakistan. I am sure they will post that soon.....
