LIVE Thread: Senate cloture vote. Guess the number of RINOs that vote to support "Dingy" Harry
C-span 2

Posted on 09/27/2013 6:59:01 AM PDT by ken5050

Senate just came into session. Happily, Dingy Harry is sparing us any commentary early on this morning, as is McConnell. Debate goes until 12:10, at which time there is 30 minutes reserved for majority and minority leaders , then the vote. Will there be any more GOP intramural fireworks on the senate floor?

Yep.....we will lose this round because of our RINO traitors, just like Benedict Arnold in the revolutionary war!!! But, friends, we have won the ideas war handily with the American people. Before this day is out, over 2,000,000 Americans will have signed and endorsed the Lee/Cruz “Defund Obamacare” Petition, the House has yet to fire its next move and the whole Obamabot machine is in turmoil, regardless of what the Obamabot media tell you!!! Ted Cruz will get a majority of the US Senate Republicans voting with him, which means, McConnell has no effectvity as the Pubbie Senate leader and ditto for John Cornyn!!!

I remind you of a bit of history. In january, 1781, George Washington was stuck in the north and the entire south was sliding off to the British Army. Charleston was wiped out and burned, almost to the ground!!! So....Washington sent General Nathanial Greene and Lt. General, Daniel Morgan south to the western part of South Carolina to, in a last ditch effort to slow or defeat the British forces. Greene was a brillant QuarterMaster, who almost single-handily kept Washington’s army fed, clothed and armed. He had a very bad limp with one his legs from childhood and dragged it behind him, so much that he could not march properly. But.....Washington came to think so highly of Greene, that he told congress, if he got killed or injured, that they should replace him, using Nathanial Greene.

Daniel Morgan was a mean, determined backwoods fighter who was a brawler,
a gambler, a womanizer and man that enjoyed his boose!!! But....he had a magnificent, brilliant strategic mind on the battle field. And....his men, down to the last man, would die for him!!!

Bottom line.....Greene split his forces, he going north into North Carolina, and Morgan going south, with 700 militia and regulars. Hence, the now famous battle at “The Cow Pens” in the western fields of South Carolina where Morgan devastated the best the British could offer. Greene did not have the same result, but he, with brillant attack plans, tied the British up in knots. These two encounters were the turning point for Washington who quickly went on to win the Revolutionary war with the aid of the Frencj army and navy in Virginia!!!

Point of order: Victory comes to those who believe, those who fight, those who never give up their dreams of freedom, liberty and opportunity, ever. So....keep that mojo burning, folks....and if you need an attention getter to keep you fired up, go see “Braveheart” or, “The Outlaw Josey Wales”!!! “Our”
revolution is underway thanks to the gang of four, Cruz, Lee, Paul & Rubio!!! Onward!!! WWW.DONTFUNDOBAMACARE.COM

Kelly Ayotte is a huge disappointment. She was good for a year and now is a traitor.

Cloture is a vote to end debate on a bill and proceed to a vote on the bill. It requires 60 votes to reach cloture. If 41 or more senators vote against cloture the bill does not get voted on. Once cloture is reached, the vote on the bill can be held but that vote only requires a simple majority and then the bill passes. In essence, a vote for cloture ensures that the bill will pass. Watch for Republicans who voted for cloture but then vote against the bill take to the airways to proclaim that they voted against Obamacare - they will be liars.

And to think he could have voted No. He’s more honest than I thought.

Hey, Cruz got almost half of the GOP caucus on his side. Now the light has shined on all these cockroaches for everyone to see.

Why does any state have an open primary?

Because that is what the respective party in that state wants.
