50 is nuts on an Interstate, its sixty here and the vast majority of the times the slower speed is not called for (no one working anywhere nearby). Where he is pulled over there is absolutely no sign of construction and I would bet a dime to a dollar the construction site is a speed trap. By that, cops pulling people over not for true safety reasons, but for pocketbook reasons.

I’m not trying to justify this incident or perp. I believe, though that the various police agencies have collectively
squandered the moral authority that formerly gave them respect and consequently kept them safe.
You’re right. This guy was fatally shot in the chest and was still shooting and made it back to his vehicle and drove half a mile. It shows why double triple and quadruple taps are necessary to stop attacks like these.
I would suggest to everyone that this is clearly some psychiatric drug at work. He was acting “military style”, and seemed to be clear headed. It is likely he was not even perceiving the officer as a policeman, but as something very different, like an Iraqi or Afghan insurgent.
Whatever this drug is, it is dangerous as all heck.

People aren’t sure that he was shot by the officer. I was trying to freeze the video and thought I saw a bullet headed towards his chest but who knows; supposedly the car was found a half mile down the road. So if he’s that far it’s only a minute or two later—unless (far fetched) Van Allen pulled over and _shot himself_, despondent? Again, far fetched...more likely the cop shot him. Van Allen despite training: poor shot (Officer shot but it wasn’t serious). Officer: hit target apparently quite well maybe with just one shot...
What weapon was this guy holding in his army photo? Not plain vanilla m16 or variant, it seems...

Could you see in the video WHEN the guy got hit?
After the initial exchange, the perp ducks behind the squad car for cover. Then he gets up and darts around looking for another chance to fire, and then decides to flee because the officer had obviously taken a defensive non-threatening position.
No way someone re-assumes an aggressive position like that without showing some signs of injury... especially one that ends up killing him 1/2 mile down the road.

My guess it was a 9 mm bullet and the chest is a large area...unless you are hit in the heart you will bleed out slow....
Plus the adrenaline was pumping....

Wait a minute: About 1:10 into the video
Van Allen goes over to the right side of the police car as apparently the officer may have gone over to that side, and shoots:
—I think two shots are heard. The second is louder and could have been the fatal shot. The incredible part is, again, Van Allen doesn’t seem to be hurt
1:11—after the second shot—Van Allen is bent over. He’s then upright again, looks over to the left side of the police car (did the officer go back to that side?), goes back on the left side
Officer: 53, Shots fired!
..Van Allen holds the gun up again but decided against shooting and flees back to his car
Is 1:11 where he gets shot—and again if so why doesn’t he appear to be in agony? Again note he’s bent over for a moment as if he’s just been SHOT.
If the bullet in his chest came from that dashcam officer’s gun, as it apparently did, then he hit him.
Watch as he gets back into his car — he’s bent over as if in pain.
Good point. Another argument that points out Democrats disarming citizens by imposing ridiculous round limits on magazines.
I just watched it again... it does look like he got shot on the right side of the car out of view of the dashcam.
Looks like the guy IS recovering from a partial knockdown, and flees to his car after the 2nd exchange.

. Let's not cherry pick the facts and look like a cop brasher. Perp was a serial traffic menace based on past history, endangering the public and his kids since 2007.
. He was doing 76 in a 55 mph construction zone with workers present. He got everything he deserved and the cop should get 30 days paid vacation, $250,000 for cleaning the gene pool, and an attaboy award.
You have hit it right on. You can see it on DU, between rants on how evil everything conservative is, they are complaining how in the past few years they can’t find jobs, find their healthcare is ruined, and everything is just getting worse. And if only Obama and HarryReid would doubledown and everything traditional family were destroyed, it would get better!
