Air Force general in charge of ICBMs to be fired
Washington Times ^ | October 11, 2013 | Robert Burns

Posted on 10/12/2013 6:46:01 AM PDT by incredulous joe

WASHINGTON — The Air Force fired the general in charge of its nuclear missiles on Friday, just two days after a Navy admiral with top nuclear weapons responsibilities was sacked. Both men are caught up in investigations of alleged personal misconduct, adding to a cascade of turmoil inside the nation’s nuclear weapons force.

The Air Force removed Maj. Gen. Michael Carey, a 35-year veteran, from his command of 20th Air Force, responsible for all 450 of the service’s intercontinental ballistic missiles. Carey, who took his post in Wyoming in June 2012, will be reassigned pending the outcome of an investigation into personal misbehavior, the service said.

The Air Force would not specify what Carey is alleged to have done wrong, but two officials with knowledge of the investigation indicated that it was linked to alcohol use.

They said it was not related to the performance or combat readiness of ICBM units or to his stewardship of the force.

Removing senior officers in the nuclear force is rare but has happened twice this week.

On Wednesday the Navy said Vice Adm. Tim Giardina, the second-in-charge at U.S. Strategic Command, was fired amid an investigation of gambling issues. He was demoted from three- to two-star rank and reassigned to a Navy staff job until the investigation is completed.

We are being set up and China and Russia have plenty of nukes pointing at us.

> I agree, drunks with ICBMs are bad. These guys have had very long careers in the military. They did not get this far by accident. I expect that these are some of the most meticulous and uptight individuals on the face of the earth.

Everyone on the forums agrees alcohol and ICBMs don’t mix but what if they aren’t drunks and that is just a cover story?

The NSA and NRO have been experiencing turnovers, just not high profile. Many Air Force officers staffing the NSA and NRO are not publicly known.

That is the one that doesn’t pass the smell test for me. If he did, this would all be on surveillance video, and he would be out on his ass with no desk job to ride out until he retires ~ and rightfully so. But now there isn’t even a trial or military tribunal, where he could be judged by a body of his peers? I had heard about this story about the 17 in Wyoming and read about Giardina in the Washington Times in a small 2” inch X 2” article and thought I would like to see more details on the story. When I did the search it turned up yet another General, in the highest ranks of the military strategic command, seemingly rendered by the military. No due process. No day in court.

Exactly. It sounds like nice cover. Who would ask questions about drunks or gamblers? If they did they would merely get the Jay Carney Shuffle. When I first put all of this together I thought “coupe”, but I knew I could get good feedback at FR. I agree with a few of the posters. I would bet that Obama is merely clearing out the ranks of white, male, heterosexual men.

Interesting. However, some of them admitted the charges. I would urge you to keep track of these firings and what happens to those relieved after removal. The nature of the replacements i.e. race, creed, gender, sexual degeneracy etc. is very important.

Yeah , I know ..
Spookey isn't it ?
Just the thought of what is going on behind the scenes.

How did that Louis Lerner / IRS inquiry work out ..?
How did the state Dept. investigation on Benghazi work out ..?
How did that Fast and Furious investigation work out .. ?
How did that Snowden/ NSA investigation work out .. ?

Agreed , when if you already have NSA in your pocket, there are no such things as secret !!
You eliminate the military , the only force who can create an armed force to prevent a coup !
Simulatneously , you disarm the citizenry , and take away thier weapons of defense/offense .

How do you defend yourself from an ominous anonomous force,
the particulars of which we weren't even aware of,or the extent of violation of Constitutional rights
and rights to privacy that were being violated.
It wasn't until Snowden that we learned the extent of electronic surveillance .
Don't forget how Zippy originally got into public office
He released damaging information about opposing candidates
even way back in his first, and earliest political campaigns.
Now , he has the ENTIRE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY at his disposal for further conquests !!
This is his political history ,.. and now he is repeating it , and expanding it !!

Petraeus is much, much more important than anyone can seem to wrap their head around, except Mesta.

Petraeus works for the democrats, for Bill Clinton to be precise. He worked nato slanted for the muslims, and took the Clinton coin in Haiti.

Made man.

There has been an enormous purging going on in all the agencies since the Clintons first set foot in the WH.

To the point where working there and doing your job was like brink of suicide. Yes, they would kill their own on Clinton’s orders.

Just a little inside info. Pretty much all of the nuclear forces of the United States, since the beginning, have been party animals. How do you think that they blow off steam? We were still tipsy every morning we showed up for Nuclear Weapons Handling School class. We were the tightest and best bunch of SOB’s who ever rolled (which I can neither confirm nor deny) nukes around. I am not saying that a roaring alchy needs to be in charge of nukes. However, I just wanted to convey the reality of the forces who comprised what WAS the best military that ever rocked and rolled. Alas, I believe those days are gone by.

Let us look at the tolerance of incompetence at the IRS, NSA and Justice dept. No one gets fired. Let’s look at Bengazi and Susan Rice. So yes this not only smells funny. It stinks to high heaven.

Excellent point. Competence has never been a job requirement with this administration, rather a liability.

There was a bunch in Minot about a year ago, too. IIRC there were 17 or 18 of those. Those I knew from the 91st wing were pretty proud of their birds and readiness status, and it had only been a decade or so since I have seen any of them, so I found it a bit surprising that many got the boot.

Or plan (credibly) to do so.

Have you wondered why not all of the names and the rank of those who were killed in the assault have been released? The White House (Obama) ordered their names and rank classified as it would raise alarm bells in Washington DC should the public know Joint Chiefs of Staff members, Provost Marshals and NCIS agents were targeted and killed for threatening to arrest Obama for treason. The White House is claiming that the names of those killed are being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Interesting...

While the proposed scenario is possible, I don’t know if it is accurate or rather a hasty rush to CT.

Those reportedly killed included NAVFAC civilian engineers, not NCIS or SpecOps or Joint level operatives.

The situation does cast doubt upon the veracity of this Administration to defend the Constitution of the US.

IMHO, legislation should be passed disallowing spouses or former familial members from holding positions of authority within about 10 levels of the Commander in Chief or possible change of command.

According to Air Force Magazine online:
.” This action came after allegations against Carey of “personal misbehavior” during a temporary duty assignment. Information Kowalski received from personnel who traveled with Carey prompted Kowalski this summer to engage the Air Force’s inspector general to look into the matter, said Stefanek.”

Happened on a TDY, what happens on TDY stays there ( I think that is the saying). I saw a lot of people come to Korea and hit the bars and prostitutes like there was no tomorrow. But this guy had “horse handlers” who appeared to have turned him in.
