Food stamp users across Mississippi and neighboring states were being declined Saturday morning as they tried to use their EBT, or Electronic Benefit Transfer, cards at grocery, dollar and convenience stores.
A Sam's Club member services representative, however, said the cards would work if purchases were broken down into smaller increments worth less than $90, but one food stamps user said his card wouldn't work for a $4 purchase.

One post was “test run?” which was my first thought since all the other closures were against patriots. Now this happens to the dependent voter. What is their agenda with what is open and closed and if we have any historians or social psychologists on Free Republic maybe they can explain this one.

According to CBS Boston, they are blaming this on a “Glitch” in the computer system..gee, just like Obamacare, a giant glitch..actually, more like Obama’s Presidency, a HUGE Glitch

How timely. Yesterday I was at a local health food store getting me some bulk flour and rolled oats. A nicely dressed and portly woman of Obamian persuasion asked an older worker there for help. She was looking for powdered golden seal. The guy took her to the bin and told her to help herself with the plastic baggie and the scooper. The lady then mumbled something and the employee asked her to speak up. She asked, “Will my Link cover this?” Link is an Illinois version of EBT. The guy tells her the store doesn’t accept link. And her soft demeanor turns on the dime. She asks, loudly, “Why not?” And the man, bless his heart, told her, “Because it’s our store and we don’t want to.” She dropped her baggie on the bin and literally stomped her way a 2012 SUV and drove away. The man and I shared a look and a smile.
I’m not on Twitter. I know users are limited to 140 characters or something, but the grammar...the photos...the attitude...all very depressing reflections of a large segment of this country.

It's $35 dollars a year to join Sam's Club...not a large expense..
Considering you and I are paying for these EBT type cards every damn person on them should be required to buy at Sam's to save by buying bulk and get more for OUR money...

The other day I was at a high-end grocery store. As I walked to my car, I saw a white Escalade with pimped-out rims with a bumper sticker that said ‘I’m too poor to vote Republican’! I must have stared at it for 5 minutes. Was it supposed to be a joke or is someone really that stupid not to see the irony in that? I should have taken a picture!
I had about that much in a cart one time and a small ethnic boy jumped up on the side of the cart,looked it over then looked up at me and said with all sincerity “You musta got yo food stamps today” No concept of work and money.
Our meat comes from the ‘Manager’s special’ cubby at Kroger.
Can not imagine buying that kind of stash at one time.
Along with all the preprocessed ‘heat and eat’ boxes.
With Obamacare, besides food stamps they'll get totally subsidized insurance. They get free Obamaphones.
So why should a "kid" leave home? Why bother with college debt which is dumb anyway. Just stay home, provide food and phone for the parents and just chill. What a deal.
