The only reason I can think of for keeping these three killers alive is to use them as trade for the scores, if not hundreds of other civilians and seamen still held captive by the pirate organizations.

One big mistake our military made in the raid of Berawa (sp) in Somalia was to retreat when they couldn’t seize the building with the suspected Al Shabaab leader in it due to women and children.

I suspect the Uighurs were just along for the ride. The Taliban/al Qaeda were the only group willing to provide training to Uighurs and risk offending the Chinese.
