Wait, Has the Obamacare Federal Exchange Only Enrolled 5,000 People?
Townhall.Com ^ | October 13, 2013 | Guy Benson

The Daily Mail's Thursday scoop revealed that just 51,000 Americans successfully enrolled in the federal Obamacare exchanges over its first week -- an infinitesimally tiny percentage of the "46 million" uninsured Americans the law's supporters frequently cite. But is the real number actually a fraction of that fraction? Oh my:

Based upon my survey of a large number of health plans accounting for substantial market share in the 36 states the federal insurance exchange is operating in, not more than about 5,000 individuals and families signed-up for health insurance in the 36 states run by the Obama administration through Monday. It is not uncommon for a major health insurer with a large market share to report less than 100 enrollments in the first week. Reports today say the enrollments continue to trickle in at about the same rate. Worse, the backroom connection between the insurance companies and the federal government is a disaster. Things are worse behind the curtain than in front of it. Here is one example from a carrier--and I have received numerous reports from many other carriers with exactly the same problem. One carrier exec told me that yesterday they got 7 transactions for 1 person - 4 enrollments and 3 cancelations.

I remember the Edsel very well. I predict it will be remembered as a grand success when compared to Obamacare.

As will the Pinto, the Vega, the Gremlin, the Pacer, and yes, even the Aztek.

All of these examples had some virtues and often were not as bad as their detractors would have others believe. Obamacare is sort of the opposite - no virtues, and much worse than the media will let on.

The closest automotive comparison to Obamacare would be the Renault "Le Car" (A/K/A "Le Carcass").

does Obama actually believe that the Average American makes between 60K and 100K, therefore wont have any problem buying Obama-Care for $300.00 to $1200.00 a month?

Obamacare masquerades as a solution to the supposed crisis that "x" million people lack health insurance.

But how many times has "x" been multiplied, now that Obamacare is directly responsible for the insured losing their insurance?

Ah yes, the fruit of the corrupt Obamatree. Regular (self-reliant) Americans are to be forced into beast.gov's "Marketplace", impoverished and completely subserviant to the will of Fedzilla ("insured" by the beast for their very lives), or they become lawless by default, targets of the IRS.

Obamacare is an image and mark (character and name) of the beast.

By the grace of God (via incompetent bureaucrats doing what they always do), this forced relinquishment of unalienable rights (that fundamental transformation Obama promised) has been jammed up and FUBAR... for a time anyway.

MM, where's your Lucifercare graphic? That's fitting, considering that Satan masquerades as an angel of light, and the Obamacare caduceus (take a look at the true meaning of that symbol) is blurred to appear as an angel of light, complete with souls in white robes. What it is, is the messenger angel of commerce, theft, deception, and death, as the symbol indicates.

Lucifer

English Lucifer "Satan," also "morning star," from Latin Lucifer "morning star," literally "light-bringing," from lux (genitive lucis) "light" (see light (n.)) + ferre "carry" (see infer).

Belief that it was the proper name of Satan began with its use in Bible to translate Greek Phosphoros, which translates Hebrew Helel ben Shahar in Isaiah xiv:12 -- "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!" [KJV] Because of the mention of a fall from Heaven, the verse was interpreted by Christians as a reference to Satan, even though it is literally a reference to the King of Babylon (cf. Isaiah xiv:4).

match...

...First used 1831 for the modern type of wooden friction match, and competed with lucifer for much of 19c. as the name for this invention.

The ‘59 Impala surely must rank among the ugliest cars ever made in America, it made the Edsel look good by comparison but it sold because it had the Chevy nameplate. The ‘55, ‘56 and ‘57 Chevrolet models, especially the ‘57, were beautiful, the ‘58 was passable but it was a total letdown coming on the heels of the ‘57, in my book they never again came up with another good looking car.

I have a similar opinion of Ford, I loved the ‘55, ‘56 and ‘57 models but they went downhill from there. As for the ‘59 the Ford was not the best ever but it looked like a dream compared to that ugly ‘59 Chevrolet.

At least the Edsel would not cause any deaths while sitting still, you had to run over someone with it to kill them. That alone makes it a grand success compared to Obamacare. It was also reasonably priced, of course neither one was actually needed in the marketplace.

Even for someone making 100K annually $1200. monthly amounts to 14.4% of gross annual income! It would be a much higher percentage of income after paying payroll and income taxes. I don’t know, maybe 20% or so? That is only the premium, then you must consider deductibles and copays.

I remember when the American dream was to make $10K annual gross, I am sure that it would take much more than $100K to buy the same lifestyle that would have bought when I was a kid. With Obamacare it would probably take $200K or more.

Yes, I realize that many things we have today could not be bought at any price in the old days, I really don’t know how we survived without cell phones and all that but I am willing to try to do so again if we could get rid of all the commie crap that is being forced on us.

A gentleman I considered to be my godfather although he was never officially named as such bought a new ‘59 Chevy...I loved him dearly but I still say it is an incredibly ugly car.

My older brother had a ‘58 Ford Fairlane 500 with the 352 cubic inch Interceptor engine. It is a wonder he is still alive, he considered himself a cautious driver because he never drove it faster than it would run.

Thanks. That's one cringe worthy graphic, especially because it was created by and for Obamacarebots.

ANYONE who has tried to get on the website would be astounded that 500, much less 5,000 have been able to enroll!

All they need is five. Then they'll say it's too big to fail, and that change would be too disruptive to contemplate.
