House Republicans sidelined, Durbin says ^ | October 13, 2013 | AUSTIN WRIGHT

House Republicans are no longer a part of negotiations to end the standoff in Washington, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Sunday.

“We’ve reached the point where House Republicans and their leadership have stepped to the sidelines,” the Illinois Democrat said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” knocking the House GOP for what he characterized as shifting demands. “They’re not part of this,” he said.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), meanwhile, blamed President Barack Obama for the standoff over reopening the government and raising the debt limit.

“The president has refused to negotiate,” Portman said. “It’s unbelievable.”

Portman also echoed other Republicans who indicated in interviews Sunday that the fight was now about spending.

“You’ve got to deal with the underlying problem, which is the spending problem,” Portman said.

Personally, I believe it is time for the Military to take the situation in hand and require election of a new government that can deal with the financial problems.

Refusing to discuss matters is treason and he should be removed for failing in his oath.

Hey gang. You are living in a Banana Republic. Did you miss the memo? ONLY a revolution, which is so unlikely, will save us from a commie nation. Get out while you can.

The Acronym for Dick Durbin (D) would be DD(D), which also fits Dumb, Dumber (Dumbest).

I agree. Unfortunately the military has been stripped of most of its patriots above 0-6. The JCS is a gang of cowards who are nothing but an amen chorus for their boss-man....

Durbin failed to mention the president was also sidelined if he was speaking about the senate leaders now doing the negotiating.

I want to know how Obamacare has been taken out of this by the RINOS and now it is down to “spending”? We have to primary every one of the RINOS for 2014! If we don’t, the only option left for ‘16 is third party. It’s getting late folks, conservatives are about to be shoved aside if we don’t act now.

It was either durbin or shumer who said the same thing in 2011 about that debt limit. Oh and he lied then. He is lying now.

Between Patty Murray, Dick Durbin, and Mary Landrieu, there is a real contest for dimmest bulb in the Senate.

THE SPENDING PROBLEM---GET OUT THE CRYING TOWEL Obama canceled two stops on his long-planned trip to Asia because of the partial government shutdown. (Excerpt) Read more at ...

Too bad.

Let's not forget Oboner's $100 million tax-paid trip to Africa---which does not include the hundreds of millions in "foreign aid" he gave the oil-rich suckers.

The WH grifters are still living large---sucking off the backs of struggling taxpayers. Mrs Grifter has 24 tax-paid assistants at her beck and call.

NRO tallied what taxpayers are paying for the Ohaha's living in the White House: $1.4 billion per year: Air Force One ($181,757 per hour), executive chef ($100,000 per year), three full-time White House calligraphers ($277,050 per year for the trio), chief of staff to the president’s dog ($102,000 per year), Ohaha's royal motorcade ($2.2 million). $100 million alone for the African apology tour.

$1.4 BILLION is the current annual cost of the White House — just in household expenses, not including US policy operations for which the WH exists-- administered by some 900 parasites--- policy staff recruited by Ohaha.

Ohaha vacations cost taxpayers millions---- (the low estimate for Ohaha's Hawaii vacay was $4 million, but the true cost is probably five times that); multiple trips to the Vineyard, skiing trips.

The first family’s yearly health-care costs are $7 million; more than $6 million is spent on the White House grounds each year. Transportation costs were a staggering $346 million last year.

The O' kids were flying aroound to the Bahamas and Sun Valley.....while American kids were shut out of the WH supposedly due to sequestration Secret Service cutbacks. The O's galivanting teen daughter was spotted in NY---with girlfriends---dining at the pricey Buddakan, scoffing up rock shrimp, edamame dumplings, short ribs, lobster fried rice........replete w/ five Secret Service guards dining nearby, while students her age were denied access to the people's house.

Obama's concerned about raising the debt ceiling---NOT b/c the US is in jeopardy. Obama is afraid his billion dollar WH lifestyle is in jeopardy----the non-stop Air Force One flights, the pricey vacays--at the Vineyard, on the ski slopes, to Europe, etc etc etc.

Michele's 24 assistants have to be paid and her designer clothes and diamond collection require millions of tax dollars.

Mrs O never hesitates to flaunt her diamond collection.

Mrs O wore her pricey diamond bangles (bought on a govt salary?) at a Texas DNC fund-raiser, attended by "tolerant and compassionate" Dems....raising big bucks to keep Mr O in office so he could work for "the poor."

Mrs diamond Gothic cuff was priced at $15,350 set with 2.17 carats in diamonds and the Quatrefoil bracelet at $11,800 set with 1.73 carats in diamonds. (Excerpt) Read more at

DEM FUND-RAISER SCHTICK Typical "tolerant and compassionate" lib/prog: get struggling taxpayers to subsidize endless federal do-good programs designed "for the poor" ....... and make a buck on it for themselves, and to keep the party in power.

THE SPENDING PROBLEM---A November 30, 2012 report indicated the Insurance Exchanges will cost Twice What it Costs to Administer Medicare (NOT what the WH twit told Americans).

ONE STATE'S LAUNCH--- In March 2013 CATO.COM reported "The Cost to Launch the California Health Insurance Exchange is $910 million".

So far (2012) California has received $910 million in federal grants to launch its new health insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"). The California exchange, "Covered California," has so far awarded a $183 million contract to Accenture to build the website, enrollment, and eligibility system and another $174 million to operate the exchange for four years.

The state will also spend $250 million on a two-year marketing campaign. By comparison California Senator Barbara Boxer spent $28 million on her 2010 statewide reelection campaign while her challenger spent another $22 million.

The most recent installment of the $910 million in federal money was a $674 million grant. The exchange's executive director noted that was less than the $706 million he had asked for. "The feds reduced the 2014 potential payment for outreach and enrollment by about $30 million," he said. "But we think we have enough resources on hand to do the biggest outreach that I have ever seen."

For additional perspective....private insurance marketing site, Esurance sells not only health insurance but also things like homeowners and auto insurance across the put his zip code into their system along with his age, they offered him 87 different health plans from all the big players in my area.

Now granted, the new health insurance exchanges are more complex because they have to interface with Medicaid and the IRS as well as calculate subsidies. But the order of magnitude difference in what it cost to launch esurance compared to the California exchange is pretty big.

Privately funded Esurance began its multi-product national web business in 1998 with an initial $5.5 million round of venture fund investment in 1999 and a second round of $34 million a few months later.

The start-up experience of other major web companies is also instructive. Facebook received $13.7 million to launch in 2005. eBay was founded in 1995 and received its first venture money in 1997––$6.7 million.

Even doubling these private investments for inflation still leaves quite a gap.

Even Chris Wallace interviewed a member of the House and was flustered as to how they’d solve anything with just Senators.

It’s the Constitution, Gentlemen.
