Scarborough: 'Very Real Chance' Cruz Will Run For President As Independent In 2016
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 10/14/2013 6:25:56 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Did you really have to be a pluperfect political prognosticator to have foreseen that none of Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann or Donald Trump was going to be the 2012 Republican presidential nominee?

Yet on today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough—by way of establishing his fortune-telling street cred—boasted of having made those predictions, before proceeding to claim that: 1. Ted Cruz will not be the 2016 Republican nominee; and 2. there's a "very real chance" that Cruz will break from the GOP and run as an independent. View the video

Have a hard time with games a bit more involved than Old Maids do ya?

The Community Organizer way is to bluff your way through even when the odds are stacked high against you. Never give in. Shoot for the Moon, what have the dems to lose?

Yup. He can win the GOP nomination, and then take over the RNC. Won’t need to form a new party. However, if they mess with the rules to prevent him from winning, then he should form a third party. We will see.

And I think it’s important to remember that even as Reagan started to dominate the party, there was still a big time moderate force - the control of parties in these situations is always a close tilt....51-49 or so.....neither side ever has everything. Reagan tilted it enough, as did Newt in 94 (before he went the other way) - and Cruz can do it too....as can probably some others.

Joe, maybe, doesn't realize it because he lives in a DC bubble but there are no guesses re: 2016.

The country will, I have very little doubt, be burning long before then.

Joe will need armored security to get in and out of his high rise or where ever he lives.

Suits me fine. Better alternative than writing in Vladimir Putin when the Pubs nominate their next RINO.

I support Ted Cruz and not any other elected politician right now, I wouldn’t spit on a burning libertarian

Cruz seems to have come to terms with the fact that the GOP nominating process really IS that broken.

How do you come to that conclusion based on this article? This was nothing but J Scabby farting from the mouth, read nothing about Ted Cruz from this.

Of course they aren’t scared of the GOP.

Just Ted Cruz.

They know that Bonehead and McCrappel will roll over for them

People who identify with the Libertarian Party are natural Tea Party members for the most part.

The new Libertarian Tea Party will consume all but the establishment Republicans and the right thinking Libertarians who for example see the benefit of a standing army.

It’s the way forward for us.

Just Ted Cruz.’

That's good to hear.

So when does he repeal Obama-care?

If he is the only Senator doing the right thing, does that make the right thing a wrong thing?

I don’t think so.

RE :”If he is the only Senator doing the right thing, does that make the right thing a wrong thing?”

so we still get Obama-care?

If so then why will Obama be scared?

I would think that repealing Obama-care would scare him more.

ha haha yes, they are getting all they wanted, and them some. They did not realize Hussein would set the dial for maximum torque and penetration on them too.

There’s a lot of independents that vote dem. And voters are unhappy with both sides, a new party needs to avoid excluding them and draw from both sides. The message needs to show them how the left is the cause of their failure.
