Step back for a moment and consider the political implications of a US govt default vs. 0bama's standing among the media and in turn, the low-info voters.
Consider that everything 0bama has ever done is always political. The advancement of his party and ideology of a state that "requires" people being told what is in their best interest.
There is absolutely NO RISK for 0bama (politically) to preside over a US default.
Do you think he is going to fold ?
Why should he ?
Do you think he actually cares about America ?
Do you think he cares about his "Legacy" ?
The media has his back.
This is the biggest opportunity to seize control, an opportunity that may never come around again.
The opportunity to send the entire global economy into turmoil. Send millions of people into the arms of the Government.

The second he allows the default the impeachment needs to begin.

I think he'll claim Executive Privilege before he lets that happen...and let the Supreme Court try and stop him...by the time it goes through all the “stalls” there..he'll be out of office. He is not concerned about Impeachment...didn't hurt Clinton and won't Obama either. If anything the people shoud do like Egypt did and require him to resign...now. They did it in less then 6 weeks. Took a year to get signitures then they took it to the Military to support them.

The basic problem with that logic is that default sends tens of millions of Americans into the arms of a government ... that can’t borrow money in order to support them.
The only way that a default results in more power for Obama is if it allows him to declare martial law. But there aren’t enough federal law enforcement AND military, combined (including a federalzed national guard( to cover the cities ... let alone the suburbs and rural areas. Which is where the money and the food is (respectively).
This is a giant game of high stakes chicken. But it’s much more in the interest - long term - to the Cruzes of the world to have a default. Because it completely unercuts the financial foundation of the welfare state.
If a shutdown brings Obama down to a 37% approval rating, just think what a default will do!
Most of us work. It’s not our consitutencies that feel the absence of the government!
There is enough revenue to pay interest on all debt, T- bill’s etc. Your question is moot and plays into the fear the leftist are trying to generate...

It is up to the Sec of Treasury to pay the bills, not the POTUS. If the interest is not being paid, impeach the sec of Treas. and find somebody that will.
