Let its doom be 100% on Obama

I agree with that 100%. The lines have been clearly drawn as to who "owns" Obamacare and as its lack of popularity continues to grow, it will be a BIG stick the pubbies can beat the Rats with. It's tough to lose this battle but the lines have definitely been drawn and our big win is the emergence of guys like Cruz and Lee.

>>> I like the idea of a third party, but in REAL LIFE/practical terms what we need to do is overrun the Republican party and use it, not allow them to chase us out.

Unfortunately, not enough people (uninformed or not) realize this. Too many well informed people see the 3rd party route as their only last option. It also represents a primary goal of the democrat party... to split the base of it’s opposition. Regardless of whether or not a third party can overtake the republican party in numbers, the political system has been engineered over the last 20-30 years to shut out any third party from gaining any significant level of control in congress.

Divide and conquer works every time.

There is simply not enough time left for the third party to overtake both the republicans AND the democrats before the communists have their way... making all political parties irrelevant.

State intervention (constitutional convention) to wipe the slate clean in DC is the only option I see that is viable.

Obama makes Carter look brilliant.

Boehner makes a jellyfish look positively rigid...

Yep, the “greedy” insurance companies will be blamed, and Obama will swoop in and tell everyone the government will save them.

It was the plan from the beginning, I suspect.

So for people who say this exercise was in futility, I say that this exercise clarified very clearly who is for Obamacare and who is against Obamacare. The battle lines have been drawn, and the “shutdown” demonstrated that we can survive as a country with much less government.

Republicans need to place an empty throne-like chair in their meeting room and refer to that empty chair as Obama-the-Missing...

SO they should surrender and then next time they'll get tough?

lol

Agree 100%. As the open enrollment process goes forward over the next several weeks, Ted Cruz will clearly be the winner in all of this.

Blaming the people who refused to vote for a liberal Republican calling himself “severely conservative” is dumb. The candidate did not earn those votes, he did not deserve those votes if he cannot persuade the people to vote for him.

Pelosi would NEVER give the OK to that.

I think you underestimate how Machiavellian Pelosi is. If she tried to take the Speakership now it would re-unite the GOP and she would fail. If she gives the release to her caucus to support Boehner then he retains the title but she holds the power.

btw, this is exactly how TX Speaker Joe Straus (super-RINO) holds power even against a majority of GOP who oppose him.

Pissed off at who? The GOP has a <20 approval rating and Congress is around 5. The Dems have a 10+ point margin on generic ballot. All this in the last two weeks. According to the polls “America” is not on the side of a shutdown and default showdown.

The collapse of the system is happening too fast for that. It’s collapsing DURING rollout.

There’s no way to spin that as the GOP or big biz’s fault. Even Ezra Klein is freaking out and pointing fingers at the Administration. I mean, they’ve lost Ezra Klein???

My own FB newsfeed which is loaded with Libs (from school and career) is going nuts about the situation with healthcare.gov. With a lot of them now saying that Obama should take the one year delay. Anecdotal, sure ... But I doubt my newsfeed is unique either to FB or the informed portion of the nation.

With all due respect, what other outcome did you expect? Hoping a “miracle” will occur is NEVER a winning strategy.

Was Obama EVER going to permit ObamaCare to be “defunded”? No matter how much “keeping” ObamaCare costs America?

Has Obama EVER cared MORE about America’s economy than Tea Party Patriots do? Once we agreed that this FAKE “crisis” was “real”, we were doomed to lose the fight, because Obama simply DOES NOT CARE ABOUT AMERICA.

Patriots CAN win the next round, but only if we CHOOSE our battles carefully, and prepare for those battles IN ADVANCE.

I’d like to see Republicans demand that negotiations start NOW regarding the NEXT authorization of a debt increase — with one key difference.

This time, if Obama can not be bothered to negotiate before the “crisis” hits, Republicans need to place an empty throne-like chair in their meeting room and refer to that empty chair as Obama-the-Missing...

So you are saying the House GOP does not have a right to demand changes to kenyancare? Are you a Democrat? Do we live in a Constitional Republic or fascist state?

The fact that if the GOP won’t fight an engaged battle now, they won’t fight one later. It’s that simple. Dems always fight. The GOP gets the best deal they can for their donors and moves on to the next cocktail party.

Boehner & McConnell never wanted this debate and stabbed conservatives in the back the entire way. There NEVER was a real battle over Obamacare in the CR. Now you beltway GOP apologists OWN OBAMACARE. Enjoy your tar baby.
