CARSON: Did you really hear what I said?: America’s so tired of intimidation, distraction games
The Washington Times ^ | October 15, 2013 | Ben S. Carson

Posted on 10/16/2013 9:18:05 AM PDT by jazusamo

Many can remember as youngsters doing something wrong, for which they knew punishment was deserved. In order to avoid the punishment, they would try to create a diversion of some type in order to distract the attention of parents or teachers who, hopefully, would not notice or would forget about the original infraction. The PC world of the secular progressives still uses this tactic quite effectively when they try to refocus attention on an individual or organization that opposes their agenda. This was certainly the case last week, when at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C., I stated that Obamacare was the worst thing in our country since slavery.

The PC police immediately went to work with their mission of distraction by trying to tell everyone that I was equating Obamacare with slavery, which of course I was not, but it makes for a good headline. This is certainly not the first time they have used this tactic to discredit and attempt to silence me. Unfortunately for them, it is not going to work, and they will say, Carson has such a big ego that he thinks he is important enough that we would waste our time focusing on him. These kinds of tactics have been very successful in the past, but as I travel around the country, I am noticing that many of our citizens are no longer falling for this simplistic foolishness and are indeed focusing on the real issues.

Yep, it’s for sure not enough citizens are there yet. His reelection has to be one of the truly low points in our history.

One of the most capable, brilliant people that walk among us. I saw him just last weekend. Most inspiring man.

Put him and Allen West in the highest offices and show America what REAL black MEN can do.

I hope he’s right. Here in the blue part of Ohio, I don’t see any evidence of what Dr. Carson has observed.

“Put him and Allen West in the highest offices and show America what REAL black MEN can do.”

There has been quite a reversal in my time in this world. As a youth, black men were considered, in general, dishonest and stupid. It was accepted that it took a white man to get a job done.

In today’s America, racism isn’t gone, it’s just changed. The last person to be selected for a job is a white man. A woman is preferred, but a non white man is acceptable.

I only care because I worry for my children and grandchildren.

That observation aside, if Dr. Carson remains true to what he’s said in the last couple of years, I will enthusiastically support him.

To be honest, I don’t know if Dr. Carson would be able to stand the kind of onslaught from the Left. But can you imagine having a compassionate DOCTOR as a Health and Human Services Secretary instead of that brittle old crone that’s there now? I think he would be VERY effective in that capacity, although I dream of him in the highest office of the land. We NEED a healer.

I am optimistic that Obamacare will make 80% the people wakeup — most people don’t go to the hospital that often, but their pocketbook is going to get hit hard regardless of their use of medical services. That is already starting to hit home hard...unless the people you speak about just refuse to cooperate at all. Now that would be interesting to watch unfold.

Thank you for the ping. I hope he’s right that more people care about the issues. Unfortunately, my experience doesn’t make me optimistic.

I think you are overly optimistic, if not seriously deluded.

The balance of my post is self-redacted, but I'm sure the NSA has already logged my keystrokes.

Ten years ago, everyone here would have immediately assumed I was a paranoid physcho for even thinking the feds would care about my stated opinion on anything, on this website.

Still optimistic anyone will “wake up” soon enough to help you avoid a no-knock violent raid by our “government”?

Oh please. The only distraction the American people are tired of are commercials during their tv shows and intimidation is if someone changes the channel. They listen to the news fed to them through an IV by hacks. They have recently lost their god given privileges, war heroes were shunned, war dead denied benefits, seniors were held at gunpoint in Yellowstone and guess who comes out on top? The politicians who abused them and they still love the bastards.....talk about domestic abuse.
