Methinks The Tea-Party Just Went Back On The Warpath
redstate.com ^ | 10/16/13

Here’s the unspoken narrative of the entire recent adventure in Game Theory that was the soon-to-be-terminated government shutdown. The Tea Party is Ba-aaaack!

Oh, RMJ, you kwazy Wingnut! How can you speak such blasphemy? The GOP got crushed. Emperor Barack I and his own appointed Conde’ Harry Reid got EVERYTHING they could have wanted. The GOP’s polls are in the septic tank. It’s over for you silly neanderthals. OVER!

Except for one thing…The GOP did this to oppose President Obama’s signature healthcare reform – Glorious ObamaCare. On October 1st, the Internet portion of this monstrosity came, saw and 404′d. Reason Magazine describes the carnage.

Two weeks into the launch and its problems only keep multiplying. Consumers still can’t log into the federal exchange website, let alone compare plans, apply for the promised subsidies and buy coverage. The site—whose staggering $634 million construction cost is more than that of LinkedIn and Spotify combined—has already been shut down once for repairs, but the problems persist. Thing are so bad that the administration won’t even reveal basic information about enrollment rates. Nor will it make its IT folks available to explain the technical glitches, insisting that “pent up demand” is overwhelming capacity.

Oh, and Senator Cruz basically made the Democrats fight for a whole bunch of things that they already had. And as for poll issues that sound just wrong, check out how David Pryor, Mark Begich and Mary “I’d vote for ObamaCare Again” Landrieu are doing lately. That’s three Red State Dem Senators with Lincoln Chafee 2006 re-election poll numbers.*

So obviously John McCain and Peter King both popped a vessel over what Senator Cruz did to the Republicans. John McCain wants Ted Cruz and Mike Lee held personally responsible for the government shutdown. According to him, elections have consequences. One only wishes he would have acted like it in 2008.

Peter King just about treats Ted Cruz the way he used to treat opponents of the War in Iraq. He claims Ted Cruz strengthened ObamaCare. Really? What he did was demonstrated in bold relief which members of both the GOP and the Democratic Party will most aggressively support it as it 404′s it’s way across cyberspace on it’s way to signing up 1.7% of the people it was intended to cover. The worse this rout becomes, the smarter Ted Cruz looks in comparison to John McCain and Peter King.

What just happened here was a wake-up call to the previously quiescent Tea Party. Red State Dems who champion ObamaCare and Republicans that are too weak such as Mitch McConnell are going to spend the entire time between now and November of 2014 running for their lives like a QB behind the Oakland Raiders’ Offensive Line. A whole bunch of Sunshine Conservatives now fear the fact that the Tea Party is now back. They are not happy campers. Things just got kicked up a notch. People can’t just pretend they are Conservative anymore. That explains the incoherent rage of John McCain and Peter King.

*-Senator Chafee was decisively unelected that year.

No, we don’t want the left shaking in their boots. We want them partying and spiking the football. Sun Tzu, I think, said you always want your enemy thinking the opposite of what is true. When you ate weak, they must believe you ate strong. When you are strong, they must beliieve you are weak. It is to our advantage for the left to believe they have won, or at least are winning.

For my part, I see the opposite. There is not a soul I talk to anymore who is willing to sit on the sidelines and let foolish people run our country into the ground over some Marxist utopia that is so last century. The underpinning of conservatism is that it is firmly grounded in reality as God made it, and that is never going to change. Utopians and power mongers will rise and fall as they have always done, but in this age of rapid, uncontrolled communication, it is difficult and will become more difficult for them to sustain their illusions. The Ted Cruz quasi-filibuster, the national park closing nonsense, the endless soundbites of “we will not negotiate,” the disastrous rollout of Obamacare, the massive and way too premature leak of truth about the true cost of Obamacare, all these are building for us, one brick at a time, a bridge back to conservative sanity. It can’t be any other way, not for long.

Why? Because reality never really goes away, though it may be obscured from time to time. The left *should* be shaking in their boots. But if they can’t handle reality, and wish to live in their delusions a while longer, so be it. It will be their loss.

The Congressional fund raising committee called me for a donation just after it was announced that McConnell had caved to the Democrats. I asked the woman if she was kidding, she didn’t even know what had happened, but found out while we were on the phone. She tried to assure me that Boehner would not cave and that even if he did, we needed to stand together. I told her that withholding our donations was the only means of control that conservatives have and that it seemed to be the only thing that the Republicans politicians understood.

I was thinking the same thing. And it’s only because Cruz and Lee and the others did the right thing. I don’t think they did it to energize the tea party or for any other ulterior reason. Funny about doing the right thing: it has nice results.

I'm a birther. Was a birther before the term was coined. D*mn proud of it too because "the Constitution matters". Ted Cruz is no more eligible to be President than Obama. But ... with the stab in the back the faux republican "conservatives" in the House and Senate delivered to us yesterday, the Revolution has begun ... not by a shot fired, but by a vote cast. George Washington, like Ted Cruz, was not a natural born citizen (he could not have been). But, like Ted Cruz, he risked all in the face of mighty opposition and became worthy. If the nation survives to another election, and Ted Cruz runs, he will have this birther's vote for the sake of Revolution. May the Founders forgive me that decision. Until victory or the gulags overrun with Tea Partiers, this is not over.

LOL! My previous post, first paragraph:

“ate weak” and “ate strong” should be “are weak” and “are strong”

Sorry. Tiny little droid keyboard’s fault. Argh.

I thought John Boehner did pretty good in this shutdown battle. Just saying.

About Peter King, he was the idiot who was partnering with Anthony Weiner to push the 911 First Responder Bill, not the version that eventually passed, but the version that aimed at creating a single first responder union across the country and spread the high cost of urban benefit programs to rural towns and unincorporated areas across the country.

Peter King worked hard to get to convince Republicans to support that bill, but when he ultimately failed, King and Weiner had a very public, ugly argument on the floor of the House. We should never, ever trust Peter King.

We’ll all be getting pre-paid envelopes from the RNC soon, if not already, begging for money to help elect more Liberal Republicans, I know how I will use mine!!

I’ll do them like I do the AARP pre-paids, fill them with heavy waste paper, and mail them back to them...on their dime.

I hope the TEA Party is now going to become the 2nd Political Party in the USA, since the GOPe has become the junior partner in RATS, Inc.

This is merely the first round in the battle for November 2014.

We got a few nice jabs from Ted Cruz, opened up a couple of cuts around the eyes.

The body blows are coming next, as the focus changes to the implementation of Obamacare.

Round 3 will be in January, when the next fiscal crisis comes to a head.

GOPe will be TKO'ed during the primaries, and Obama's lame duck will be cemented in November with the addition of at least a dozen new Tea Party Congressmen.

It would be nice to win back the Senate, but there's way too many RINOs like McCain. Fortunately, Graham will be gone.

Just who heads the tea party and are they one group or several groups each doing their own thing? How can we unify America under one banner?

Maybe a tampon sent to them would get the point across better.
Just sayin’

The GOP-elite’s victory was putting Cruz in his place and by extension it was putting Americans in their place! This deal is nothing more than a reminder that we are subjects to be ruled!

This deal is more than just politics as usual. It is in your face establishment politics. They are flipping off the American people for daring to speak out.
