In this message, Dr. Stanley tells us why Christians face such persecution and how we can respond to it in a godly manner. Despite an ever-present opposition throughout the centuries, Christianity is still growing. It cannot be broken, stopped, destroyed or silenced. Will you be part of its survival or contribute to the attacks against it?
I guess you could say Stanley, knows about and suffered some persecution, when he divorced his wife.
Even though I’m Jewish I watch Dr. Stanley down here in Australia via YouTube and his web site. Wonderful preacher.
Actually, it was his wife who filed for divorce, more than once over a period of years.
the “Holy Spirit” led him to some younger chippy
Oh I see, it wasn’t his fault, it was hers, well that makes it alright then, that’s why his leadership role is in tack, and he remains an example to his followers.
1Ti 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
1Ti 3:7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.1Ti 3:11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
Not from news stories or gossip forums, a friend of a friend told me that Mrs. Stanley has bi-polar disease. Since I have a close family member who also suffers from that disease, I know how difficult it is to live with.
I know that the leadership of His church knows the details of the situation and has brought it before the Lord in prayer and made their decision accordingly. Therefore you don’t know anything about the situation that would call for your judgment and use of those Scriptures, or to cast dispersion on the man.
..if you can find it, listen to Dr. Stanley’s message from the 1980s, “A Nation Under Judgement” —more like a prophetic warning than a sermon—30 years ago..
