LOL.......no...don’t need to go that route by any means.
.....really more interested in NOT working with the public now they’re so temper-mental. Since I only want part-time there certainly has to be plenty of these now with Obamacare changing everyone to part-time!
I guess I don’t get the big deal. My family owns a pharmacy and we are on call 24/7. I guess I could tell you when your child needs medication to call back Monday morning.
Or if grandma in the nursing home or hospice is in pain I would’t dare think of telling them we can’t help.
Your family should mean the same to you everyday and spend as much time as possible with them everyday instead of making it a one day deal. It’s not as if you can’t plan for it in advance. We have missed a lot of weekends and holidays together because our customer’s needs come first. And we don’t mind at all. We can enjoy our Thanksgiving meal whenever and wherever it is. Its the meaning of the day, being THANKFUL for our blessings.
I have a daughter that is a nurse and one that is EMS/firefighter...so they can end up working any time.
Over the years we have planned holidays around different work schedules and sometimes it is not possible so you do the best you can. Our family is very close and we spend a lot of time together when it is not a holiday so maybe we are spoiled.
If someone truly does not want to work holidays for whatever reason they need to have a job that doesn’t require them to work. I don’t believe in protesting a business that is hiring people to work because their customers are willing to shop. The employer needs to set the conditions and if the employee doesn’t agree they can find different work.
Of course stores are now opening on Thanksgiving. Soon they will open on Christmas. It’s more Mammon-worship. NOTHING is holier than money, and God will be shunted aside to make way for Mammon.
The very existence of “Black Friday” (and notice it even has a negative NAME) is evidence of a very sick society, one with no sacred values.
I won’t shop on Thanksgiving. I’ll go to church and be thankful for what I have.
Um, I don't think so.
