California Sheriff's Deputies Shoot, Kill 13-Year-Old
Breitbart ^ | 23 Oct 2013, 12:15 PM

Two Sonoma County deputies on patrol saw the boy walking with what appeared to be a high-powered weapon Tuesday afternoon in Santa Rosa, sheriff's Lt. Dennis O'Leary said.

The replica gun resembled an AK-47 with a black magazine cartridge and brown butt, according to a photograph released by the sheriff's office. Deputies would only learn after the shooting that it wasn't an actual firearm, according to O'Leary.

After spotting the boy, the deputies called for backup and repeatedly ordered him to drop the gun, O'Leary said in a news release. It wasn't clear whether he pointed the replica assault rifle at the deputies or made any type of threatening gesture. The sheriff's office referred calls to the Santa Rosa Police Department, which did not immediately return a call for comment.

O'Leary said the deputies fired several rounds from their handguns immediately after issuing the orders to drop the rifle.

"First, I heard a single siren and within seconds I heard seven shots go off, sounded like a nail gun, is what I thought it was," he said.

The boy fell to the ground on top of the rifle, according to O'Leary. He said the deputies ordered him to move away before approaching him and putting him in handcuffs.

They began administering first aid and called for paramedics, who pronounced him dead at the scene. Deputies also found a plastic handgun in the boy's waistband, O'Leary said. The deputies, who have not been identified, have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard after a shooting, O'Leary said.

The family was back at their mobile home Tuesday night after identifying the boy's body

The newspaper quoted the boy's mother, Sujey Annel Cruz Cazarez, as saying, ""Why did they kill him? Why?"

I am sure that is part of the lessons being taught by the police. Train kids to believe that guns are evil and will only serve to get you killed. Bad guns.

DROP YOUR WEAPON BANG BANG BANG.

This pisses me off.
The kid probably had no chance to comprehend what he was told to do.

Eventually people will begin to stalk and kill the cops who do these things. Then it will be warfare between the cops and the citizenry. Police will not patrol, as such, they will drive around in fleets of armored cars and will shoot people from inside their rolling forts to intimidate the populace. That is The Terror as it begins in the US of A. It has already begun with shootings by police that are becoming more and more like random killings.

Hmmm... that gun looks pretty "real" to me.

Of course I think the cops made a mistake, but even at 13 didn't that kid have some "inkling" about what might happen?

If this were a 25 year old with the same "gun" I'll bet he'd be dropped also.

With tensions running as high as they are these days, you'd have to be all kinds of stupid to pull a stunt like this.

The newspaper quoted the boy’s mother, Sujey Annel Cruz Cazarez, as saying, “”Why did they kill him? Why?”

Because they’re unthinking idiots in a state that’s fanatical in its fear of firearms, that’s why.

Barney Fife kills Opie for having a squirt gun. Once upon a time, long, long agho, that would have outraged Americans. No longer.

Scary stuff. In no way am I knee jerk defending the police, but I think it is hard telling what the timing was or whether the gun was altered after he was shot. The gun looked pretty real to me and the kid doesn’t look any more like a youngster than Trayvon, at least in that get-up he has on.

The police are far too quick to shoot, but if the 13 year old kept the gun held up and the cops didn’t do “drop it, bang” like they did in Seattle to the Indian fellow carrying a carving knife, he may have been an unfortunate Darwin award winner.

Were I a parent, these days I would not buy or let my kid have a toy gun that was even a tiny bit close to the real thing. And even with a toy gun, the kid shouldn’t be pointing it at anyone. Scares people, scares cops, and just might get ‘em killed.

Its not against the law to be stupid, but the cops can kill you for it anyway.

You are so FOS. You think you could even get three people together to do the BS you are talking?

One of those would be an informant in a hot second and you think for a flipping minute you are going to beat the propaganda machine that would turn your little world upside down?

Don’t project your little fantasies on the internet, it’s always a punk move.

I am not advocating it. I do believe, however, that if there is any testosterone left in the society, that it will happen. The police assault on the citizenry will only get worse. There is a breaking point or it expands to total terrorization of the population.

Arthurus, this is NOT new. It’s just reported more. The police of my father’s generation split your skull for just talking back. Not advocating that either, but when the police told you to get off the corner you did. And if you got an urban turban for your trouble, then people back then didn’t blame the police, they blamed you.

With 12 year olds shooting teachers at school, this could also have been in the back of the craw of these cops.....Maybe these SHERRIF’S deputies need to get stronger craws?

The police of my father’s generation split your skull for just talking back.....A little hyperbole, I’m sure. When I stopped, frisked some people and ‘advised’ them to head home, (You are pissed, drunk or being off your meds) and I was told to “go F yourself!” I merely took control of the situation and stopped more horsepoopy from going down for the rest of my shift. In the morning, if they acted like anything near to a rational person, I’d open the cell bars and tell them “don’t come back.” Most always asked “What am I being prosecuted / arrested for?” I said Nothing, for being a dumbass and not hurting anybody else. I had a LOT of gratuitous informants. I didn’t work for fines.

Back then the police didn't shoot as their first action. And "fleeing felons" were liable to get shot if they did not stop when ordered. I did hear, "stop or I will shoot you ass!" once, long ago. I stopped. According to the item, the officer yelled for the kid to drop the gun then immediately shot him. No one called the officer to the scene with a complaint. The kid was a target of opportunity. This is not an isolated incident. This is police SOP. Either the nation will become 1935 Russia with its NKVD in its several iterations and a totally cowed populace, or people will start to fight back. There is obviously no judicial or legislative recourse.

Only an idiot would choose to continue living in such a country. If we don't revolt LONG before that happens, then every idiot still living in this country deserves what is coming.
