WASHINGTON — The man in charge of fixing the Obamacare portal says HealthCare.gov will be up and running by “the end of November.”
Jeffrey Zients, a former top White House official pulled back into government to lead a so-called “Tech Surge” to fix the Obamacare enrollment website, told reporters Friday that the site will be fully functional by the end of next month.
“By the end of November, HealthCare.gov will work smoothly for the vast majority of users,” Zients said.

Depends on what they mean by “up and running.” It was “up and running on October 1.”
getting it “fixed” won’t change the coverage rates.
People will still avoid this database like the plague, and Obamacare will still implode under it’s own weight.

healthcare.gov....also known as “Health Care Theater”. Designed to give (gullible) Americans the impression that they have health care options. In reality, there are no options, just a black hole known as Big Government.
If he can pull this off, Microsoft ought to hire the guy and put him in charge of Windows!

I do business startups, at least ten in my life so far. Some successful, some failures. One hard rule is that if you blow the roll out, it is EXTREMELY difficult to recover the lost customer surge. So even if they fix the website, they lost the momentum to get the young to enroll.
And if the young don’t enroll, that’s where the death spiral begins. It will be perversely amusing to watch the HindenTitanicBurg Obamacare go down in screaming flames and a cauldron of steam.

I agree. Of course none of your startup, or others, have ever had the boot of the federal government to assist. Nor has the IRS been there to enforce.
But I do agree. A botched rollout in this case is a public relations flub that will be near impossible to recover.
The price will dissuade many of the “young” from enrolling. Most of the new people being covered under Obamacare have been shunted into the Medicaid system where coverage is free.
