On September 9, 2009, Joe Wilson, Congressman from South Carolina, shouted "You lie!" when President Obama was touting the benefits of his Affordable Care Act, now dubbed "Obamacare." Many in America were shocked that anyone would call the President of the United States a liar in such a forum as a presidential address to a joint session of Congress.
But, now, as we look back on 5 years of Barack Obama, we see that Obama and his Administration do lie. And they lie a lot.
* Both Eric Holder and Barack Obama stated that "Fast and Furious was a program begun in the Bush Administration". That was a lie. The Bush Administration had, in fact, shut down any efforts to track illegal shipments of guns to Mexico because it was a dangerous and untenable undertaking.
* Hillary Clinton, Susan Wright and Barack Obama all stated that the attack in Benghazi was caused by Islamist spontaneous reaction to an anti-Islamist video produced in the United States. We know now - and they knew then - that the attack in Benghazi was a well planned effort by well armed Islamic extremists with connections to Al Qaeda.
* The President assured us that "..... the IRS targeting of conservative groups like the Tea Party..." was an isolated instance of rogue IRS employees in the Cincinnati office. We now know that the senior levels of the Administration (e.g., the Treasury Department General Counsel, the Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Treasury, and the Office of the White House Counsel) were acutely aware of these plans to target these conservative groups and were worried about these

I thought the “you lie” outburst was over immigration? Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I sent Joe a $100 for that “You Lie”
Just one of the many lies, so does it really matter?
Excellent article. All Democrat congress members and Senators should stand and read it out loud from the floor of their respective houses and then apologize to the American public.
Joe Wilson should then be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.
Yes it does . . . I have a thing for factual inaccuracy.
Joe Wilson was correct.
Thank you very much. I simply did not remember.
“I thought the you lie outburst was over immigration? Please correct me if Im wrong.”
He said, “You lie!” when Obama said illegal aliens wouldn’t be covered with ObamaCare. It was established a couple of years ago that he was correct; they weren’t excluded from coverage.
Per the article:
“Recently, the disastrous rollout of Obamacare has provided fertile fields for more lying.
“If you like your current insurance plan, you can keep it. Period.”
“If you like your current doctor, you can keep that doctor.”
“Your premiums will go down an average of $2500 per year.”
“The cost of this national healthcare program will be less than $1 trillion.”
“Obamacare would not cover illegal aliens.”
“Obamacare would not cover abortions.”
used to be a rock song..
(pardon the ads for the video)

Joe needs to use it on his next campaign tour if the old group will let him.
Neither did I... :^)
What difference, at this point, does it make?
How was it established that illegals qualify for taypayer paid health care?
They now and will even aftr 0d8mbocare be able to go to an emergency room for “emergency” care, which does get abused
BUT thee is nothing in that piece of crap called obamacare that allows people not here legally to qualify for our healthcare beyond what they cheat is out of now
He may have been referring to that; today they are entitled to free health care, and ObamaCare won’t remedy that. I thought at the time that there was nothing in the wording to exclude them (which many conservatives wanted); I haven’t read anywhere that they can’t sign up on an exchange and be found eligible for Medicaid. The fact that Repubs recently pushed for some kind of income verification in ObamaCare leads me to believe that they CAN get it.
I suspect that like many of us here on FR, he isn’t laughing. We’ve all been right about a lot of things but it doesn’t make us happy to be right. Vindicated maybe, but not happy.
I have often posted here that a statue of Joe Wilson should be put on the National Mall that says “Last Man in Congress to Speak the Truth.”
Would make a good commercial, back & forth with video of Obama’s false promises.
