Virginia Gov: Today’s top opinion: Sleazy money [McAuliffe]
Richmond Times Dispatch ^ | October 31, 2013 | Editorial

Terry McAuliffe’s campaign worked swiftly to limit the fallout from his latest embarrassment. Joseph Caramadre now rots in prison for stealing identities from terminally ill patients to further an investment annuity scheme — a scheme in which McAuliffe invested several years ago.

When the story broke recently, McAuliffe hastily donated his hefty gains from the deal — along with another big chunk of change Caramadre had given to McAuliffe’s 2009 gubernatorial campaign — to charity.

< snip >

McAuliffe’s campaign says he was merely a “passive investor.” It is easy to be a passive investor in, say, Coca-Cola by purchasing shares in an index fund that aggregates stocks from hundreds of companies. It is not so easy to be a passive investor in an elaborate annuities scheme known to a well-connected few.

This suggests two possibilities: Either McAuliffe knew what he was investing in, and had no qualms about it; or he invested in a scheme he knew nothing about, simply because his buddies said it would be a good idea — a possibility that does not speak well of him either as a businessman or as the potential future overseer of Virginia’s economic development funds.

Which is it?

In the late 1990s, some of McAuliffe’s business ventures came under investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, which filed suit against two labor-union officials, both of them with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers pension fund, for entering into questionable business arrangements with McAuliffe.

Both officials later agreed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in penalties for their actions, and the union itself had to reimburse its pension fund by nearly $5 million.

In one deal, McAuliffe and the fund officials created a partnership to buy a large block of commercial real estate in Florida. McAuliffe put up $100 for the purchase, while the pension fund put up $39 million. Yet McAuliffe got a 50-percent interest in the deal; he eventually walked away with $2.45 million from his original $100 investment. In another instance, the pension fund loaned McAuliffe more than $6 million for a real-estate development, only to find that McAuliffe was unable to make payments for nearly five years.

In the end, the pension fund lost some of its money, McAuliffe moved on to his next deal, and fund officials found themselves facing the Labor Department’s questions.

...and libertarians are willing to put him in office by siphoning votes from Cuccinelli

If McAuliffe is too much for the Times-Disgrace to stomach . . .

. . . you know he's VERY, VERY BAD.

Terry McAuliffe needs to make plans to move into the “big house,” not the governor’s mansion.

Plus, isn’t he the one who sold overnight stays in the White House Lincoln bedroom to fund Clinton’s campaign fund?

Here’s a great letter to editor in same edition: “McAuliffe Knows How to Make Money”. I urge everyone to vote for Terry McAuliffe. We all know that state retirement fund is underfunded by billions. If McAuliffe is elected he can bring his expertise to the management of the fund. Anyone that can invest $100,000 and then claim to get a return of $18 million has my vote. McAuliffe knows how to get things done. He has a record to prove it.

You wanna talk McAuliffe/Dem sleazy money? Read on.

.....the conniving National Council of La Raza Action Fund is doing a "get-out-the-Latino-vote" .... hoping a McAuliffe win will exert pressure on Congress to pass "immigration reform"...

La Raza has a lot of $$$$ irons in the political fires.

=================================================

EXHIBIT ONE----The Senate immigration “reform” bill includes two "neverending slush funds” amounting to hundreds of millions of tax dollars, earmarked for tax-exempt La Raza organizations.

EXHIBIT TWO---LA RAZA TEACHING HATE-AMERICA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS "La Raza Studies" do not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323). The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America: “.......execute all white males over age 16,” (p 167--AKA the Plan of San Diego).

America-hating Raza Studies teach (1) violence, (2) undermining US ntl security, and, (3) the need for Mexico to "re- take seven states in the Southwest...in order to make the SW a Chicano nation."

===================================================

EXHIBIT THREE----Just before the reform procedural vote, Judiciary Committee member Sen Grassley offered a simple amendment to the Judiciary Committee considering voting the immigration bill out of commmittee.

"The secretary (of homeland security) may not grant registered provisional immigrant status to an alien under this section unless the alien fully discloses to the secretary all the names and Social Security account numbers that the alien has ever used to obtain employment in the United States," said Grassley's amendment.

Grassley's amendment would not have prohibited illegal aliens from being converted into legal aliens just because they had used names and Social Security numbers that did not belong to them. It would only have required that the illegal aliens make the names and numbers they used known to DHS before they could be granted the right to legally live in the United States.

Grassley said, "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more. This amendment will simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

===============================================

EXHIBIT FOUR ---- ON RECORD AS AIDING AND AETTING FELONIES Dismissing Sen Grassley's proposal, ranking Dem member Sen Schumer said: "When people are living in undocumented status, there are times, I suppose, when they've made up identities, made up Social Security numbers. How are they going to remember all that? (The) purpose of this bill is to bring people out of the shadows. We all know when they lived in the shadows, they had to forge documents, forge Social Security numbers, et cetera. I just don't see how, when you've lived here 10 years, and you've had many different identities, many different numbers, you're going to remember them all," said Schumer. The Senate Judiciary committee defeated Grassley's amendment 8 to 10 on a party-line vote.

====================================================

EXHIBIT FIVE----The Senate "reform" bill also absolves latinos holding US public office ---including those from VA---from prosecution for wrongdoing while in office for stuff like government fraud, graft, bribery, selling their votes for cash....all the usual politician crimes.

=====================================================

EXHIBIT SIX---- Senator Harry Reid Supports Giving Illegal Aliens Tax Credits for Kids Not Even Living in US .....Townhall.com

U.S. Rep. Sam Johnson, R-Texas, left, wants to end the practice of giving illegal immigrants tax credits for kids, but U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., won’t let the House-approved measure H.R. 556 through the Senate.

"The System is Working Fine" says Senator Harry Reid, even though the Joint Committee on Taxation calculates that enactment of H.R. 556 would save taxpayers $24.4 billion over the next decade. The House repeatedly has passed an IRS bill that could save U.S. taxpayers up to $24.4 billion but Harry Reid’s Democratic Senate will not hear it. The Refundable Child Tax Credit Eligibility Verification Reform Act, or H.R. 556, would require tax filers to provide Social Security numbers to claim child tax credits.

Currently, the IRS allows undocumented residents to collect the $1,000 credits for dependents not even living in the country. Watchdog reported that illegal immigrants received $4.2 billion from the tax agency in just one year.

Though the GOP-controlled House has passed Rep Johnson’s measure three times, Senate Majority Leader Reid, D-Nev., refuses to allow the bill to come up for a vote in his chamber.

==================================================

Va voters should ask vote-crazed McAuliffe----enumerating the exhibits list above, what is he promising latinos to get their votes?

LETTER TO THE EDITOR (excerpt):......Va's state retirement fund is underfunded by billions. If McAuliffe is elected he can bring his expertise to the management of the fund. Oh, yeah, wheeler-dealer McAuliffe is ogling the VA treasury .... (and the conniving Clintons are having wet dreams about Terry fixing the Va vote for Hilly come 2016). VA voters who vote for McAuliffe are making a deal with three devils.

=================================================

(Snicker) the "dearly departed" are also McAuliffe voters.

TERRY, THESE GHOULISH THING REMIND ME OF YOU McAuliffe is apparently polling well---and prolly receiving mucho campaign cash---from the "dearly departed" b/c a lawsuit Democrats filed says “the [VA State Board of Elections] is rushing to complete the purging of dead voters in time to have the desired effect on the upcoming gubernatorial election.....to make sure that those who no longer live here don’t vote here."

(cackle) The "dearly departed" are also Hillary voters. Terry is 2016 Hillary's place-keeper. If elected, grave-robber Terry will fix the vote---dead or alive---for Hilly. (That's after he rapes the VA state treasury.)

=======================================================

DEAD AND READY Another shady example of how the connected ex-DNC chair, Obama suck-up, and Clinton confidant, mixes business with politics to profit himself....with the dead and near-dead as his victims.

<><>McAuliffe apparently lied to VA voters---according to McAuliffe's campaign, he invested $33,000 in the notorious Caramadre death fund and received $80,000 in return, a $47,000 profit. However, documents submitted in Caramadre's trial by federal authorities indicated that McAuliffe's profit was actually $114,000, or $34,000 more than McAuliffe admitted to voters.

<><> According to official RI court records, McAuliffe’s connection to Caramadre came to light via court records linking McAuliffe’s investment directly with the terminally ill, ailing mechanic; official forms identified them as "acquaintances" (apparently a requirement to allow McAuliffe to cash in).

<><> When the irrefutable court records surfaced, McAuliffe’s campaign then said McA did not know the mechanic and doesn’t know why they were listed as "acquaintances."

<><> NOTE: if official files were falsified to profit McAuliffe, that's a felony in any state.
